Crystal Palace (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Agree. Based on tonight’s performance I can only see a similar one against Arsenal, possibly even worse. The only advantage is that they might want to put out a good performance the last game of the season for their fans but they’ll be looking forward to the final. That draw vs toffees really cost us the title.
It's never one game. We have had quite a few other results that were worse than a draw at Everton.

Two nice 3-0 wins - one thing that's continually frustrating, though, is how rarely our 3-on-3 or 2-on-2 breaks produce an attempt on goal.

If we don't win this title, I'd prefer it to be on points, rather than GD. We cannot lose on GD to this arsenal side.

Well after a half decent first half in which we were 2-0 up, i thought we'd at least double our score after the break, but for the main part we seemed to have very little intention of doing so, it was pretty bland and directionless until Cherki came on ... Savinho eventually did manage to add a third goal, but Pep still didn't look all that happy .... like him, i thought we could, and maybe should, have tried to score more just in case Arsenal do unexpectedly collapse.

Having said that I fully expect them to beat both Burnley and Palace.

We’ve dropped 15 points after leading at half time. That is a horrible stat . Arsenal have dropped two. If we were even close to the Arsenal number the title race would already be over.
Inconsistency is common in a new team. Now new boys are bedded in, we will thrash the league next year. The future is blue.

Perfect night, 3 points, boosted the GD, clean sheet, rested some big players and those who came in performed admirably, particularly Phil and Savinho

Sends us off to Wembley with a real feel good vibe about the place

I can't see that happening now, even if we are on the same GD, we have scored more, if we don't win it, it will be on points, which is what I expect, but we've put them under pressure to do that.

It’s a fairly damning statistic, yet it also give grounds for optimism next season. The squad will be more gelled and such lapses should be minimised.

Took the ball important three points mostly thanks to a decent first half performance with Foden pulling the strings.
Second half was a tough watch at times and we took an age to move the ball forward. It was a bit infuriating that even when we had a break we turned back at the half way line. Too many wanted to walk the ball in the net tonight and chose to pass rather than just shoot.

Good win. Not the greatest of watches but we got a good result against a potentially tricky opponent to keep Arsenal honest.

If it were to go to G/D we've made up ground well, they'd have to draw and we would win by at least 1 goal so we'd be 2 ahead with more goals scored giving us the advantage, meaning they'd have to better our result by 3 to win on G/D. Done all we needed, just have to continue to do what's neccesary and hope for a miracle.

Time to win the cup double first.
