Mahrez is much more culpable than Walker. We took Sterling off who was really trying for us, and put on Mahrez who did literally nothing. He needs to start producing and stop coasting or he'll lose his place.

Walker had a poor game overall and was directly responsible for the crucial third goal when he gave away a needless pen. He should not have been selected for this game. This is not hindsight , many on the forum were saying this beforehand.
As for the Stones selection in midfield , that was a tactical error by Pep irrespective of who else was or wasn't playing.
And yeah Pep took a gamble without those players you mention.
So all in all very poor team selection by the Manager, cost us the game.

Plus stop messing with Walkers role!
 
This time of year against lower teams there is always a danger of complacency. We start with well worked goal and it seems a normal home win on the way.everyone eases off slightly they squeeze one in from an impossible angle bit of panic defending gundogan completely misses a header out, silva smallest man on the field heads out and then the wonder goal, suddenly they have tails up and it's all about momentum. Hard to get it back. Walker and Bernado have played too much, hoped playing a Lower team might get foden a game , danilo and Mandy always injured plus David , Kev and kin out has put lot of pressure on.its still all about running off the ball, tracking back and pressing, if that goes and we play slow build up we are not the same side. They have played some brilliant stuff this season, we can allow them an off day I think. No problem with focus for Liverpool game now, just need to go into it with two wins to keep up our confidence.hopefully can field full strength team against them.
 
Are we just getting unlucky or is something wrong?

Battered CFC for 45 minutes, they score with their first shot. 2nd half we have about 13 corners, they get their first and score from it.

Today CPFC were barely in the game and suddenly from 1-0 down they were 2-1 up and no one could possibly have seen it coming.

And yet in each game we had ample time to come back and we couldn't do it.

This is part luck, and it feeds into whether you win titles or not. But we also have some problems. I think our strikers: jesus and Aguero aren't so hot, Mahrez is coasting, and we have injury problems. We would have won both those games if KDB had been fit. Narrow gap between success and failure. Of course as yet we don't know what the outcome will be.

He should have been subbed at half time. He was terrible. He got worse too in the 2nd half which I didn't think was possible.

Walker has never been the best defender but his role was to get down the wing and beat the full back and get the cross in. This season he seems to being played more defensively. He rarely gets to bomb forward and beat the defender and get the cross in. This seems to have been a tactical tweak which has so far backfired this season. Give Kyle the freedom to attack like last season and you will see a different player. Why the change?

We have a very flakey defence that put under any sort of pressure concedes goals. Until that is resolved it will cost us points.

They should not be scoring 3 goals from 3 attacks. That is poor defending and all three goals were very preventable regardless of how well he struck it for the 2nd.

The pressing has slowed too. We don't hunt the ball down as well as we were doing and that is tiredness. Perhaps our squad is not as strong as people make out when we have injuries.

The injuries have hurt us.

Needs two touches every time he gets in now. Very frustrating.
 
We played Chelsea off the park for 45 minutes and they score the first time they get into our half. Today we dominated the game and they scored with virtually their only shots of the game (including a worldie that happens 1 in every 100).
Forgive me if I don’t hit the panic button yet. There are plenty more twists and turns to come so sit back and enjoy the ride. Well done Palace today, we move on together and next match we come back stronger

City's defence is not very flakey. You don't win what we have won and be where we are with a very flakey defence.

We conceded 3 goals from 3 attacks partly perhaps from poor defending but really what disappointed me more was that it was only in the last 10 mins that we looked like scoring.
 
jeez just imagine the liverpool love in if they go on to win it a knighthood for Klipperty and a whole day on Sky interviewing all past liverpool legends in there back gardens followed by the 10 million scouse parade

I got slated in a previous post match thread for saying our profligacy in front of goal will cost us, as it did today and in the first half against Chelsea AND it will continue to do so in both Prem and Champions league?
Jesus after appearing to hit form dissapointed again today, Leroy blows hot and cold and Sterling is not clinical enough. Serge is off his best this season.

I can understand rotation like for like but playing Stones in midfield is a piss take especially as it did not work on Tuesday! I gave it my all today even at 3-1 trying to get behind the lads but most had given it up in the East Stand. It might actually not end up being a bad thing as city fans with backs against the wall are very supportive. Raz been very poor last two games and Bernardo not been himself since injury. Lacking leadership at the moment throughout. Interesting disagreements on the bench between Arteta and Pep. I hope we stop rotating with players in incorrect roles and get back to playing to our strengths. Where has the passion gone and the intensity? Ah well only 4 hours until I get get home :) Onto Leicester which just became a must 3 points !

Atmosphere was same as always and never mattered to the players all last season and this!
