Crystal Palace (h) post-match thread

We were a bit too slow and sloppy first half, didn't create much, second half pep changed it, widened the pitch and got us passing it more crisply and moved their defence around more and the job was done within 15 minutes. Very satisfactory day for us.

Another perfect match for Pep, win, clean sheet doesn't appear to be any injuries, coasted for the last 30 minutes and got some valuable rest making early and good use of his subs he couldn't have hoped for a better outcome.

I can’t quite believe what a difference Ruben Dias has made to our back line, it’s easy to underestimate but I can’t actually remember the guy being under pressure for a single minute in any game since he arrived. It’s quite astonishing how much calm he has brought to our defence, Stones is a colossus now he’s alongside him.

Dias was brilliant today. My word of the day is assured and Dias has made the most assured of starts for City. Our amazing defensive record since the first few games isn't simply down to having Dias but he has been the catalyst for it.

Whatever happens this season, this core we've got, with players settling, and one or two to come in in the summer, Pep might have built a second vintage side by next year. Can't wait to get back in the stadium to see that.
