We didn’t win today because we didn’t commit the tactical foul on 90 minutes on the halfway line that we are renowned for. I though our passing for most of the game was crisp and we were wearing out the Palace Team.

it was our control of the ball that seemed to let us down and the fact that we don’t have power in the air. Sterling’s control in the first half was poor as was Gundo’s passing. Our most reliable player, Fernandinho, made a mistake. They happens sometimes.

I think we are looking good overall.

Don't forget Karen, Pep owes RM one, for the fact his Bayern Munich team got thrashed by RM in the semi finals of the champs league 5-0 in 2014 over 2 legs.
We was unlucky against Spurs last season but we will always score goals if we get the defence right, and there must be no excuses this season.

We need to come off the pitch in both legs totally knackered - running until it hurts. Pep will judge whether it's likely we'll dominate possession and decide on the best approach, but it'll only be a fairly minor adjustment. To be honest, I expect a slightly more energetic version of what we normally do, but with more numbers defending than normal when we're under pressure - more energy and busting a gut to get back and busting a gut to attack.

There have been mitigating circumstances, losing 2 key players for a start. Pep has his philosophy and he will never change, and I for one hope he doesn't. This season can still be a huge success, let's get Laporte and Sane back and see where it takes us. Have some faith in Pep

Yup, there have been mitigating circumstances and and I do have faith in Pep. However, he’s far from infallible and I think Klopp is currently getting more out of a much cheaper squad. I’d like to think we’ll be back on it next season.

Do some people seriously believe that the bosses should ask Pep about the defence because, otherwise, he won't care? Pep of all people won't care? He should be asked to take his job seriously?

Maybe Pep should ask the bosses why we don't have enough quality in defence and have only 3 senior CBs, 2 injured and the 3rd past it.

A bit disappointing given the 25 efforts and 71% possession but it happens. I really think we are missing a player that can drive past defenders one on one. Kev has been doing it recently but credit Palace today they did a good job on keeping him quieter. Dave is not having such an effect and we are missing Sane's directness especially as Raheem is off form. Onwards and upwards.
