People were saying that about us 2 seasons ago. They will hit a wall sooner or later. Sadly we are too far behind to take advantage of slip ups this campaign but next season we will. Anyway the pressure is off now in the league and I expect us to win this one pulling up. Big test this season will be Madrid get over that one and we can reach the final with a favourable draw.
Just two reversals and they are in the same spot that both they abd the rags hace choked on in recent years. Now is the time when the pressure mounts.

We're playing our best football of the season at the moment so we should win this game but you never know and Palace have a counter-attacking game which will probably mean we have 80% possession and they end up running at Ota or Fernandinho and score with their first shot. That is the way our season has gone. It's part bad luck, but part down to inability of Fernandinho and Otamendi to defend one on one.

It's probably the last home game before Laporte returns. I hope Stones plays again. He was good at Villa. The sooner Stones and Laporte are back together the better. I think this game is possibly one week too soon for Laporte's return but perhaps we will learn more from Pep's press conference (tomorrow?).

I would be looking to get as much match action into Laporte asap providing it does not risk his recovery. He might be very rusty, and he might benefit from training, but with Real Madrid on the horizon we need him to get back up to speed asap. The thought of Hazard running at Otamendi or Fernandinho is scary. The sooner that hole gets plugged the better.

Don't think we'll be seen the Stones and Laporte partnership. Fernandinho looks to be first choice centre back until Laporte comes back so it will more than likely be Fernandinho and Laporte.
As you said its unfortunate that teams are getting one and two chances against us and putting them away, You look at Liverpool most weeks and teams are creating much more opportunities but not taking them.
We are playing our best football of the season and I expect us to win with the pressure been off us in the league.
It would be nice to be 3 or 4 up and give Laporte minutes and build him back up to be ready for Madrid.

Laporte’s that close to a return ?

Laporte’s that close to a return ?
Most speculation seems to centre on the FA Cup game against Fulham for his return. That's just fan talk.

Laporte is in full training and in advance of the Villa game Pep said that City are waiting for the Doctor to give the go ahead for him to play. I expect Pep will be asked about Laporte in the pre-match press conference which I think will be tomorrow.

Not expecting him to be in the squad for Palce but can't help hoping. He's key to the rest of our season.

Agreed, as for next season we'll need to get a proper left back and another CB to partner Eric and then we can really challenge the dippers. As for Saturday, our confidence and mojo is back so if we can keep Saha quiet we should win this one.

After so many years of supporting City I don’t think I’ll ever get to the place where I’m confident we are 100% going to win!! Yes now & again I sort of feel confident but if I were a betting person I would never put a bet on us winning!!! Daft I know but it’s always there at the back of my mind!!

EB, I think that's the mindset of just about anyone over the age of thirty. Younger supporters who've come in since the takeover have that assumption that we're going to win, and that's fine, it's good to be confident when you're a kid. Kids back winners, that's the way life is in general. I absolutely take my hat off to those blues who were about ten or so in the nineties or noughties and who chose to follow City, Mondays in the school playground must have been a nightmare. They must be the most resilient ones of all of us. Sort of the SAS of City supporters.
But I hope we never get to the point where we're arrogant. I've seen a bit of that on this forum and it always makes me uncomfortable. We're good. We're very good in fact. But the wheel of fortune turns…Sic transit gloria mundi. Ask any United fan.
