Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

No hate for Palace congrats to their fans.

Take away the obvious match fixing by pgmol there and we were beyond poor there. 40 solid minutes of our back 3 being expected to be prime Stones(they aren’t) and Savinho being shown for not having it(loan next season guaranteed).

Pep’s job isn’t to be loyal to those players and today he almost gave KDB what he didn’t give a much fitter Aguero. Too late and that’s two trophies for getting the call backwards.

Onwards to next season.
We’ve got 2 more League games and the CWC yet.

Akanji did nothing particularly wrong, but he reminded me so much of everything that was wrong with our setup. Like Walker in the last couple of years, he's always available for the pass because the opposition know he won't do anything with it. And because our players are all safety first, they always use him.

You saw everything that is wrong with us in Echeverri's little cameo as well. Full of energy, put himself in great positions, always available for the ball, but because he was a slightly harder pass, no-one was willing to take the risk. Last season, Foden was taking up similar positions and the ball was fired into him to turn and run at the opposition. I can see him 6 months from now no longer making those runs, just like Haaland seems to do less and less. When he first came, he was endlessly making clever runs and keeping defenders on their toes. Now, you can just see he never expects the pass to be made and he's much easier to neutralise.

What a season.
Well done Palace
Well done incompetent VAR for not sending off Henderson.
Pep has possibly lost it, brings back Haaland last 2 games and we play dogshit in both games
Marmoush is turning out to be a waste of space, 2 good games since he joined?
Did anyone play well?

Absolutely sick to death of having to talk about referees after games, even when we were shite. But we do. VAR today was full of brown envelopes and no one can convince me otherwise.

But again, some of our fight this season that we used to pride ourselves on was none existent. Thought KDB shit out of about 10 challenges today which shows why we needed to get rid of him.

Again, well done palace, first major trophy, I know how that felt when we won that fa cup in 2011 and was crying my eyes out. Fair play!

Just sick of the fuckin state of decisions that have gone against us and that one is by far the worst one

We been good against proper side, which is on fire and have many very good players.

We could and should have scored few. Dominated them well. Henderson their motm. Penalty, rebound, many link up plays so close, just unfortunate one.

Our own fault and by that I mean the whole club but I can’t excuse the VAR decision add the handball not given in the semi and one has to ask what VAR is for?

The return of Akanji, Haaland and Foden have been a disaster. Ok we weren’t great but we were getting results. Haaland wtf I really don’t know what to say. Akanji is bang average and thats why he was let go by Dortmund, Foden has left the club, he’s gone. Kev tried to but he’s fucked. What’s left? I honestly don’t know.

Foden: Awful, Savinho: No end product whatsoever, Doku: Pass or shoot! Or none?

All wingers were crap and have been for a while.

Obviously Henderson shouldn't be on the pitch but we can't use that as the excuse, missed a penalty and had ages after to score.

Not good enough in total, but glad Palace won it rather than Liverpool or someone.

Big game is on Tuesday now... must win game versus Bournemouth

Red card decision aside that was an abysmal a final performance. Fair play to Palace, they fought for their lives and wanted it more.

Need to pick ourselves up now for the next 2 games and try and salvage something from this fucking sorry season.
