Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

Gutted.

Congratulations to Crystal Palace, their 1st ever major trophy, can't begrudge them that.

I actually don't think we were that bad, probably the better side but horrendous finishing cost us again. A better side from previous years probably would have created more chances though.

Now for the big one, VAR. It won't help but PGMOL owe the club a massive apology. As far as I'm concerned VAR should no longer exist after that game. It should have been 70mins against 10 men.
The decision to not send Henderson off has cost us a trophy today.

It's the worst decision in the history of VAR and Jared Gillett should be sacked.
I agree with your point about VAR. That should be its death nail. If they can't get that correct there's no hope.

Dominated from start to finish and that 90 mins just about sums us up. Palace have barely stepped out of their own half. All our own fault with our continued wastefulness in front of goal. How the fuck have we lost that game?
i though it was only me that thought this^ we should have gone in 2-1 up at H-T with them down to 10 men, on another day it goes for you but today it didnt and thats it,we played OK, VAR certainly needs looking into this cant continue

Red card decision awful. Keeper then plays a blinder so there is an effect. Palace set up to do what they did and then did it. We never really looked like scoring. 2 huge games now if we want CL.

Well done Palace.

We was fuckin shite.

Palace fans tonight will be feeling like us in 2011.

Let them have their day in the sun, they've fully deserved it.

We need the reset. We have had a horrid season and deserved nothing. If we sneak in through the back door for champions league then we've had a touch.

Embrace this you entitled fans on here, this is called football, this happens.

I'll say it again, well done Palace.

On TV saying no one saw this season coming....er we did...plenty questioning the squad strength and certain players lastseasonwhen we crept over the line....It was so obvious last season
Keep on with all the players are rubbish nonsense.
Guardiola has been clueless this season. Endless changes , one week a player is flavour of the month, the next we don't see then for months. Wingers one week, box midfield the next. As I said clueless.

Devastated. Congratulations to Palace.

Appalling. Simply appalling.

Palace should have been down to 10 but still… absolute shit.

De Bruyne and Pep both embarrassing there. Savio is wank. Marmoush not good enough and Haaland is deserving of some very serious conversations.

Devastated.

When the same problems keep happening and he does absolutely nothing to change it ever, unless he’s forced into it. Then we have problems. He’s been sussed, glasnor warned him weeks ago he’d get him back and if it’s that easy to see and predict then your tactics are shot. Everyone knows how to play against you. Yet you still won’t adapt, you refuse to change, Then it’s time for a change from someone else.

Agreed but if we can't get the best ball players then it's pointless. I'd much rather have a walker who makes selfless runs, has energy and pace to burn all day than a rico who can keep the ball better and not do much else above that.
Well obviously Walker (of the past) and Akanji are much better at actually defending.

The amount of times Akanji received the ball by Savinho/ Foden and massively slowed down our game or yeeted the ball into the stands was ridicolous. There needs to be a creative player in that position who can create chances or cross the ball! How does Pep not see that?!

Silva Dias and Gvardiol do the same and they all bring the ball out of defence instead of playing an easy 60 yard pass to the wing then move up the pitch!

Fucking rubbish as much of the season has been.

Why couldn’t pep see that putting everything through that useless twat Akanji was slowing everything down.

The turd cherry on top of a turd season cake.

Criminal officiating.

Bit of play acting from Palace but cannot really resent it as we did not do enough to win.

Not confident that we can win our remaining two games and this daft Club World Cup can get in the bin.
For their play-acting, we got 10 minutes of extra-time, so cannot complain.

Pep doesn’t have the upper hand over his rivals any more. When he joined he had to outsmart Neil Warnock, even mid-table teams have excellent managers now. He has to adapt to the changes that are happening in the game. If he doesn’t, he’ll go the way of Wenger, Mourinho etc.

Fair play to Palace, their game plan was perfect and they got a huge slice of luck.

Injuries and KDB losing his legs have put an almighty plaster over Pep’s performances this season. We’re easily one of the worst coached teams this season. Utterly devoid of ideas going forward and offer nothing but shitty sideways passing. We make the same mistakes time and time again, the Palace goal today was the exact same move as a goal they scored at the Etihad.

For the record, I don’t want him sacked. He more than deserves another season with us. But he needs to start facing the criticism that he’s been spared from so far.

Indeed fair play to Palace, but I just don't see the "worlds best striker", when I see Erling. He may not be fully fit, but today wasn't his day.
Oh for a prime Kyle Walker!
