Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

I absolutely concur with everything you have written here but I care. If the club don't make a complaint there should be recourse for the fans to do so. If it was Liverpool or United they would have issued a grovelling apology by now. Henderson should have walked 100% and absolutely nobody viewing that footage could come to any other decision. If there was no var I'd accept the ref missed it as it was so fast and he got away with one. Fair enough, annoying but understandable. There is var however and the correct outcome should have been applied, Henderson being sent off.

I don't think it was a City thing, tbh. I think it was a not ruining the occasion thing, although we will never know, of course. The audio would be interesting.

The mistake happened and as usual Pep says fuck all about it, and the club say fuck all about it so a day later it’s done and dusted. No suspension for the officials, no apology from Howard Webb.

If any other club had been in our shoes this would have been in the news for a week.

It’s a major issue at City that the club are terrified to have a voice on anything. Unless it’s apologising to scousers they say fuck all about anything.

Whether it’s treatment of supporters in Istanbul, decisions costing cup finals, media coverage over 115, media calling our supporters all sorts, nothing ever !

The cost of the weekend for me and mrs 2112 was around £600+, including tickets, hotel, food and drink, fuel, train tickets etc. With each trip its become clearer that everything about Wembley is nothing short of a fucking scam and after doing every single one with exception of the covid period we will now seriously think twice about any future games we play there. We've done it all and was more than happy to continue but at this point after watching that decision and the disregard for fair play and the subsequent cover up and the lack of condemnation, especially from City ourselves then i'd much rather use that money in future for a thousand other things that will be more pleasurable.

It's inconceivable the more I think about it that anyone can look at the replay and give anything other than a red card. I understand that City probably feel anything the say would come across as being bitter and would take some of the glory from Palace but at this point why are we bothered what anyone thinks. We are being royally screwed and slandered at every opportunity and whenever possible and I for one don't want to keep putting my hand in my pocket and paying for it.

The best thing for the FA is to have these "smaller" clubs get to the final every year where it'll be a first trip to Wembley for them, and likely the last one for years, and those fans will pay whatever to be there.

Spot on. My cost was £390.93 for two nights in a hotel, my train and match ticket. That's before you add on food and drink. Our record in fa cup finals isn't great either, it's slightly better in the league cup. I always say never again, particularly after a loss, but I'm seriously thinking of actually following through next time.....well maybe lol.

That should never come into it they are there to apply the laws, nothing else.

I’m surprised Gundo wasn’t sent off for trying to ruin the occasion by scoring after 13 seconds against the rags 2 years ago. Mind you, applying the laws came back into effect with Jack’s deliberate handball for the rat to equalise. It helped to put the occasion back on track.

I went to see a choir group after the match. A lovely methodist church choir. After the show one of the choir women comes down to me and my wife, asks are you two the city fans? Then spend the next five minutes telling us how good it was we got beat, sad that money wins all the time and we deserved it.

She was a forest fan so obviously was upset we beat them but wtf, I couldn't even tell her to fuck off.

I'd have told the bitch to fuck right off and added that at least we haven't yet been found guilty of cheating, unlike Forest. At least they didn't prosper by getting to and winning the final and hopefully they'll miss out on the champions league. Then added you thought the choir was great but her singing was a bit off key like her football judgment.

For me, that’s it at Wembley. Been enough times over my years supporting City. Too costly now I’m an OAP, the day is too long for me in a wheelchair; and our recent record there isn’t great to justify the cost.

Don't they play the SF there too?

Wonder where the ex Rag Henderson learnt to cheat..
We can cry all we like, I genuinely think he didn't realise at the time. If you consider that Haaland didn't even remotely claim for it during or after that attack then you would realise that in that moment they both was clearly lost in the game. Henderson didn't cheat, VAR cheated.
