Because he's 23, came through a Barca system playing similar football and has a chance to learn from Rodri.

Not every January signing was for the here and now.

1 was a CFG signing, 1 was a gamble on a young defender that could turn good, 1 was a gamble on a young midfield that could turn great and 1 was a ready made forward. Not a surprise that it's just the latter ready.

I think it was a major spend in the winter window, but we needed players in because of the injuries to key players
The future is a gamble and Nico Gonzalez is young and will learn, but we give up on this season long before the new signing

Good luck.

Fuck Palace, fuck them right in the arse and then stick it down their throat. Spent the last 15 years just existing to mop up Premier League money. Told us Newcastle fans that Pardew was a great manager before he rock up to them. Told us our support was shit as they waved one flag and banged a drum, tried to prevent our takeover and then proposed and voted in rules to hold us back. Called us names for our takeover and then said fuck all when they got linked to Saudi money.
Another nothing club who should fuck off back down the leagues, along with their BBBC mates (Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Crystal Palace).

Fuck them, fuck them harder than you did to Watford in the final a few years back.

yep-thats how i see it-try to pin their wing backs back to make them play 5 at the back.

then a mad dash everytime we lose the ball...
That's scary. The absence of anyone in midfield with a natural defensive sensibility is a bit of a worry. I guess Akanji or preferably O'Reilly plays that role.

Without the Rodri, Stones, Ake and Akanji injuries we probably only sign Marmoush in Jan.
They’re all in the team/squad today, ahead of others, so they appear to be the future.

Rag

I hope KDB and Bernie had their three shredded wheat this morning.

Also hoping that Palace are complacent, assuming that they'll race into a lead again and this time not be so stupid.

An early strike from us and we might see them crumble. Everything crossed - much more excited about this than I thought I'd be.

Remember the misery during the Orient tie? The fact we're here proves that the result is all that matters.

C'mon!

I am disappointed. True.

But i was also disappointed the last time he played a lineup i hadn't seen before against this same team . But that lineup worked out.

How best can this 11 work? Here is my guess ..
A 3 Box 3 formation. Or what folks from the 70s remember as the WM formation.

....................Ederson
....Akanji......Dias........Gvardiol
..........Bernado .... O'Reilly........
........Debrynre......Marmoush....
...Savio.......Haaland.........Doku....

I see the potential in this formation. Id have rather we started our best midfielder in Kovacic over Bernardo though. But we are here.

Looks like O'Reilly will be drifting between LB and helping out Bernado in the middle. Maybe Akanji might do something similar from his side. Even Gvardiol can at times..

At least I hope so, because Bernado will get overrun if not. Kev hasn't got the legs to really help out Bernado too much if he's exposed.

Judging by this line up, whichever player is going to be helping Bernado out in that position needs to have a very solid game. We will probably need others tracking back too. I don't really like Bernado in that position against the energy and palace of Palace. His support need to get it spot on.

Fair to say you're not a fan then?

Very fucking nervous.

Shame Nunes doesn’t get his chance in the final given he’s been one of our best players all season.
Would’ve been nice to see him building on his form but with the midfield picked, or lack of, Akanji is a good and safe pick.
