Crystal Palace PL (H) Post match thread

We need to sort our our mentality and concentration.

It is totally about that. It is not because we lack skill, or application (for 85 to 90% of the game). It is not because we are lacking this or that injured player. It is not because we let this or that player go.
It is about mentality and concentration, for every single minute of the match, whatever its duration.

If he wants to win games, he could start by playing the back line that beat say, Madrid and won everything. They are all there for the last couple of games. Walker Dias Stones Akanji, with Stones stepping into midfield. It's a deliberate choice not to. Why?

Complacent....you could see it coming......we tried cruising, everyone fans and players just sat back and we got what we deserved.....awful....

We havent dealt with KDB being injured as there is a lack of creativity. Gundo going means no leaderships, goals or creativity....clearly Ppe doesnt think Kovacic or Nunes are ready as he is playing Rico in their place.

Walkers form has fallen off a cliff again...he looks like he is running through wet concrete most of the time....Gvardiol is giving the ball away too much as well
Grealish, despite his goal goes missing for parts of games.

The elephant in the room as well is John Stones...fabulous player BUT if he cant stay fit then how much use is he? He is constantly injured or recovering from injury....

East to blame foden (and he was at fault) but the team is playing very poorly as a whole.... summer transfer window hasnt helped

Kdb on the pitch is a proper leader Walker is poor and been poor all season at the back going forward he is even worse

Zero resilience in the team. That together with some odd decisions (can’t understand why Gvardiol continues to fail at left back when Ake played OK there last season, or why Stones didn’t come on after we scored the 2nd), looks like it means that we are not good enough this year to win the league. We can’t win it every year and last year, we won the treble, so no complaints. We need to make sure we secure a top 4 spot and go all out for the two cups we are in (although that defence don’t look like they’re up to it).

Another weekend ruined and a Mickey Mouse tournament next with no game next weekend makes it feel worse.

We all know he's shit on penalties, but idk what guys expect him to do for their first goal. He's the last person for blame there. It's a driven ball across the 6-yard box for a tap-in.
he looked hesitant on the first goal to me but i don't think he's at fault - you have to stop the cross, the blame on Ake is unfair either - he tracked him, but that's how it goes - it was dias & walker at fault.

Too many players off form at present.
Key injuries, midfield signings not settled in properly,or not good enough.
I actually think we will win the CL but have a disappointing prem campaign.

We haven't faced a good champions league side yet this season.
Keep defending like this whilst squandering chances,we will struggle in that as well.

No mentality whatsoever in this current City team.

Form of several players fallen off a cliff - others not good enough !

New recruits not trusted or not good enough.

Injury time gifts on offer every week.

I wonder if the penny will ever drop that playing an athletic team that use all their 5 subs may be a little more energetic in the last 10 mins than a team making none and blowing out of their arses.

I prefer not to speak (much) on Foden, ill get called a 'rag' but there was an opportunity for him to hold the ball up in the 93rd min and he just runs aimlessly into a defender and gives the ball back to palace and that sums him up for me, weak on the ball, hides between the lines and easily dispossessed.

How can you be coasting a game at 2 nil up and end up drawing 2-2 to a team that hardly left their own half?
4th time within weeks, it's a mental weakness.

They are afraid to fuck it up again - and then they fuck it up again. Basic psychology.

Ah, and Pep clearly is a major part of that. He didn't react in any way. Not good enough that.

Shite library support as well.

Not by me you won’t. Praise where praise is due etc.

Stones has been in and out of the team which hasn't helped, and Dias has been out of sorts, but they are far from shite.

Teams have worked us out a little, and Pep is taking time to sort it out. He'll get there.
Yeah I hope so but not sure this time.
