Re: CSK Moscow vs City Pre Match Thread

We'll win this CSKA know they're not gunna go through so they'll have a few light hearted perfomers imo.

Hart

Zaba Kompany Mangala Kolarov

Fernando Fernandinho

Navas Yaya Silva

Aguero

That's the team I'd go with but can see MP playing 2 up top.

CSKA 1 City 3

Hart
Zaba-Kompany-Mangala-Kolarov
Fernandinho-Yaya

Silva Milner

Dezko Aguero

Roma beat them by GD of 5, so think MP will play 2 on top

Re: CSK Moscow vs City Pre Match Thread

Pellers will definitely play two up front and after yesterday's cameo by Jovetic it has to be Edin.
Is Mangala fit ?

Edin will play instead of Kun.

Fernando will play as he was bought with Europe in mind. Yaya further forward. Probably instead of Navas.

Re: CSK Moscow vs City Pre Match Thread

Dont see Aguero being rested....Europe is priority for us and Aguero himself would be eager play in CL

If we can't get three points with this starting line-up then it's time to see what the Europa League is all about!

Re: CSK Moscow vs City Pre Match Thread

Ideally I think Aguero would have come off against Spurs, but the need to nurse Silva's ankle and the injury to Lampard put pay to that

It's been billed as must win. I don't think it is

We just need to be in contention for 2nd by the time we go to Rome.

I watched Bayern struggle to beat CSKA in Moscow. They needed a penalty. They are capable of taking points off Roma and City at home.

Re: CSK Moscow vs City Pre Match Thread

Need to rest as many as possible with big domestic games on the horizon.

GD doesn't come into it unless we draw 1-1 in Rome and finish level on points.

or beat Bayern 1-0

Re: CSK Moscow vs City Pre Match Thread

With the probable inclement weather conditions, and their propensity to pick up injuries, there's no way I'd even consider starting Kun or JoJo, on that dodgy (plastic) pitch, (especially with the game against the "scum" coming up).

I know "Pellers" won't do it, but, if I was picking the team for CSKA, I'd defineately play with a five man midfield, and Edin up front on his own.

Hart
Zabba
Kompany
Mangala
Kolorov
Fernando
Fernandinho
Silva
Yaya
Milner
Dzeko

Re: CSK Moscow vs City Pre Match Thread

City to win 0-4. Aguero 2, Milner 1 and jovetic to come on and get 1

Re: CSK Moscow vs City Pre Match Thread

I know we are not great in Europe but we should have enough with Dzeko and Jovetic up front with Aguero coming off the bench I needed.

I am not convinced Aguero can play in Asia twice followed by 90 mins against Spurs, then away in Russia to CSKA and away to West Ham in the space of two weeks, not with his injury record

I reckon Aguero will want to play though.

Re: CSK Moscow vs City Pre Match Thread

If we play 4-5-1, we will win irrespective of who plays up front or who plays in midfield.

If we play 1970s style, playground football 4-4-2 like we did against Roma, we might get overrun and manage to lose against a team from which a single player would not get into our squad.

Don't fuck up Manuel.

Re: CSK Moscow vs City Pre Match Thread

expect a comfortable if unspectacular win. Would like to see 5 in midfield with dzeko upfront, give Aguero a rest but i think Pellegrini will play 4-4-2. i've just got a terrible feeling we'll pick up a few key injuries over there on that dodgy pitch.
