CSKA are the one side I'd pair Serge and Edin up front against they don't seem to offer much of a threat to us so we can afford to be a bit less worried about our midfield getting overrun and go for goals because this is one group where goal difference WILL matter I feel.

I didn't watch their hammering by Roma, but I watched them against Bayern and they looked much better than last season. What they have are runners with pace who got behind Bayern's high line more than once. They had a couple of 1-on-1 type situations but Musa messed up a great chance with one of them. Really, they could have taken a draw from Bayern, who needed a penalty to beat them. An early goal would probably make things easier for us.

This is a must win game for us all

Moved from the subterranean world of the cellar-dweller
Can you all not feel the energy
It deserves a viewing for all you day-walkers
Perpetual emotion

Just seen some interviews on the website and subtitles are still being used.

what is it with latin players in football? Been living in England for 4 years yet can;t speak a word of english. Yes i know it doesnt matter or anything, but i find that really surprising. Thought teams would make learning english compulsory.

Man City 'very weak' says CSKA's Musa

Striker Ahmed Musa has warned Manchester City that CSKA Moscow are ready to expose the "very weak defence" of the Premier League champions to gain revenge for the defeats of last year.

The Russian side go into this game having lost their first two Champions League games and were defeated on the two occasions they faced the Blues last season.

But Musa, fresh from scoring two in a 6-0 league win on Saturday, reckons City are not as good as they were.

"We're going to use that advantage because in the couple of two games they played they are not that good," he said.

"We know their weak point - they are very weak in their defence - so we are going to try to do our best to work against that.

"We know a lot about them so we are going to try to do our best to fix what was decided last year. We are going to fix it tomorrow."

Asked if City were weaker than Bayern Munich - who CSKA lost to 1-0 in their last game - Nigerian forward Musa said: "Yes, that is true. As you can see they are very weak this year so we are going to try and use that advantage against them.

CSKA did take the lead when the teams met at the Khimki Arena last year when former Manchester United winger Zoran Tosic scored.

But a quickfire double from Sergio Aguero secured the points for City, and they hammered the Russian champions 5-2 at the Etihad.

Haha, What?

Outside then ****, let's go!
;)

Really looking forward to this now.

just play the reserves, league games coming up are more important.
Tell that to the owners.

We should just pull out of the competition and claim back the 50m these corrupt bastards have shared with our competitors.

What a message that would send, two fingers up to the corrupt cheats.

Imagine the publicity this would shine on the competition and the questions that would be asked of this corrupt system.
It may seem a defeatist attitude but You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.

Mind you this is probably what they want and would give UEFA a chance to get United back into Europe.

I believe over 80% of fans would love domestic success (winning the league) over the remainder of this competition.

I expect they speak significantly better English than you appreciate.

At the end of the day, I'll take the positives from this.

They all can speak English, at some sort of level, many quite fluently, but they feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their home language for fear of things being lost in translation.
I guess only time will tell and hopefully the rest will follow Pablo's lead

Also take into consideration that some people are naturally good at languages and others not

This here. Even Joe Hart said during Kün's MOTM interview, that Kun speaks English and speaks it well... Just not comfortable. Also interviewers tend to drag their questions a long/ multi part questions etc so players tend to get confused and will look for help to respond properly. Even Pellegrini will look to the side and ask for help, mumble in Spanish then repeat in English.

I wonder how much Italian Gazza spoke at Lazio
Gascoigne actually spoke Italian quite well.

He acted as interpreter for the Italian players with him at Rangers.

It was said that Gascoigne had a flair for languages, except for English!
