Cup Schemes

Was going to jack in the domestic cups, but as I've moved seats and saved loads, I'm back in all three schemes. I know it's only until I'm priced out again, but it'd feel weird not being there when we're playing at home.

Just a question, I'm gathering as a club We can't guarantee CL final tickets?

Isn't it some sort of lottery system or have I just made that up?

Yeah, City can't guarantee Champion's League Final tickets (if we ever actually get there!) as it's UEFA's call how many of the tickets for the final each participating club actually gets. Barcelona and Juventus were both allocated just 25% of the tickets on sale for last season's Champion's League Final, that equated to just shy of 20,000 tickets each. According to the UEFA Website the rest were allocated as follows:-

Each applicant was asked to complete the online application form for a maximum of two tickets and entered the ticket lottery, regardless of the time of submission during the application period.
Applicants will be informed by email by 10 April as to whether they have been successful or not in the lottery. Also, applicants will be able to check the status of their orders via the
2015 UEFA Champions League final ticket portal. Tickets will be dispatched by registered post no later than the end of April.

So, 50% of the tickets (minus those given directly to corporate sponsors etc) are sold via an open lottery to whoever choses to apply for them.

Cheers for that Matty, I'm assuming the 20 odd thousand would revert to the standard City points system...wonder how many of the 40-42k of season ticket holders will be on the CL cup scheme percentage wise...Would be interesting if we did indeed get there...A lot would miss out I reckon

It would be entirely City's call how they allocated any tickets that were given to the club (in this hypothetical scenario). They could do what has been done for other cup schemes in recent years, which is give first option to those who joined the relevant cup scheme (on a loyalty points basis), so those on the cup scheme with 12,000 points (for example) got first dibs, then those on the scheme with 10,000 points etc etc until they offered tickets to those on the cup scheme with any number of points. Then any tickets not taken up would go to none cup scheme season card holders with 12,000 points, and so on and so on.

Alternatively they might chose to ignore the cup scheme signup and just use the loyalty points system.

I suspect the cup scheme rules, somewhere within them if anyone can be arsed to try and find it, probably spells out what City's approach will be if this did come to be.

Signed up for them all, too many years lost not being able to watch City, for various reasons, so now I want to watch every match I can before the Grim Reaper calls!!!

Come on City

Exactly this. Work dictated I missed the glory years of the 80's and 90's so it's just a pleasure to be able to go to all the home games and away/European trips whenever possible.
