What radios were these fans listening to, i was convinced Wigan had scored 3 with the cheers from the family stand

This confused the fuck out of me. Several periods of squeaky cheering from the Family Stand that had me thinking that there could have been goals at the DW.

Peering across to it it actually looked like each time two attention seeking twats dressed as bananas or something had decided that they were at a child's birthday party and were on their feet trying to get all the five year olds to cheer them.

Another reason to dislike the family stand!

(Yes, I know, miserable bastard, Victor Meldrew, etc...........)

Exactly, the atmosphere like most home games was awful until Wigan scored and my issue is when the team needs us to get behind them we are often lacking.

I'd turn this argument on its head and suggest that if you weren't interested in what was happening in Wigan then you're a bit of an odd ball.

Wait hold on i was agreeing with LF

I know you were, my response was to him not you.

oh no, team in position one and team in position two in league, both named after same city, intense historical rivalry, only a few games left in the season, fans interested to hear other team's results which could be vital to the destination of trophy........

mcfc - ruining title run-ins since 2012.......

I wonder whether those bastards in the banana costumes were there at the Liverpool match in 1996.

We would have been content with keeping the ball in the corner in '96 with the mentality of paying 100% attention to ourselves and 0% attention to games elsewhere.

Once we were 3 up last night and out of sight and I'd already heard United were 1-0 down to Wigan of course I was interested in their result?
I agree that we shouldn't sing about them unless we're playing them, but while we're competing with them directly and they're dropping points and putting us back in the title race how can any City fan not be interested?

I quite like singing about the fuckers, after all I absolutely hate them. That's not to say that I prefer singing about them more than City or hate them more than I love City but there is enough time at a match to sing about us and them. Never really seen a problem with it myself although I do know it really winds some people up.

I hate them more than anything it's just that I try not to worry about them when I'm at a match.
