Curly Watts

I remember being in the Platt lane for the opening match of the season sometime in the late 90s, and Curly was spotted in one of the boxes above. He was given the dogs abuse(nothing nasty, just piss taking) can't remember exactly what for, but the whole stand was chanting at him. I think it was something to do with the then current Corries storyline, he just nodded and waved as to say "I know, I know"

Used to see him in the Kippax car park before games and in ghe barley corn in Didsbury. In the pub he always had people sat round him.

I did an interview with him for my Talking City feature that used to be in the programme. He is still very much a Blue and as obsessed with the club's fortunes as ever. He told some great stories about being on stage in London when it was the Spurs FAC fight back game a few years ago and getting updates from the band etc.

He told us a good story about going to Stockport v City with Les Battersby. He'd been on the ale and they both ended up getting kicked out.
