Current City Players Who You Think Will Become Managers

I think with the money these guys get paid we'll see less and less top class players becoming managers. I was thinking yesterday that VK would make a great manager but agree with other posters that think he's too good a person to stay in football. His ambitions probably lie elsewhere

Wayne Bridge will be the next Mourinho and lead England to World Cup glory.

with danny mills as defensive coach, Vassell and heskey working with the strikers and paul robinson coaching hart who spends most of the training sessions laughing at him.

My top 3 are (in no particular order ) Pizarro, Barry and Silva . I am going based on apparent intelligence

With the money the top players earn these days I think we'll see less and less go into management and more and more go into the business field. Kompany and De Jong are already well down this path. I can't see either of them hanging around the game after they quit.

I think some will still have a love for the game even with tens of millions in the bank.

I doubt Mancini is short of a few bob (geddit) yet he's still doing it.
I'm sure he was on decent money but he won't have amassed the kind of fortune that modern-day players will be able to retire on. We're talking tens and tens of millions here; the sort of money that would enable them to do absolutely anything they wish in any line of business they choose. Sure, some will stay in the game, but I think much fewer top players will do so than in previous generations.
