Anyway, using your idea, would you rather have a shit time half of your life and then a good time the other half or a steady rate of satisfied all of the time?

Nah given the choice, I'd go for steady probably. But you can't deny there is a certain enjoyment to be had in the moaning and the experiencing of mundane and difficult days.
