Had me a little chocked up this morning with the current marine and the D Day chap. Respect.

Same here, makes you wonder what your Grandparents went through, wish i had even 10% of the bravery that these guys had.

I think too they were driven by revenge. Many had lost someone or had their street bombed. It was payback time and boy did they give it them.

Stayed in Bayeux 2 years ago and used that as a base to tour the landing sites, all I can say is when I saw what these guys were up against that day I was speechless at their achievement, you really do need to go and see for yourself and I swear you will feel the same, respect and thanks to all who gave their lives and to the survivors who took part in an historic day

I wil be visiting my dad later for a glass of whisky or two and salute his comrades that lay in Ranville and Bayeux cemetarys,he was a 18 year old Royal Marine on Juno beach this time 70 years ago...I went back with him for the first time for the 65th anniversary such an amazing trip meeting the old veterans who after a few sherberts were acting like they were 19 again, dinner with prince Charles and the haunting sound of the last post echoing around Bayeux cathedral just some of the wonderful memories....and thanks to the local French who make the veterans so welcome.

CHEERS TO YOU DAD AND YOUR MATES

Off to dusseldorf today; intrigued to see if they have anything happening in relation to this.

Those of you with kids, make sure they remember. From my memories of school, days like today were not given the respect they deserve.

Thank you to all those that fought for us.

The utmost respect, love and admiration to everyone involved that made it home and those that paid the ultimate price and did not. It staggers the mind what it must have been like. All of them heroes.

Lest we forget.
