DAB Radio for car

got this a few months ago - Amazon product ASIN B07FL1NRRT

easy to install and use and terrific signal, better than in my wifes car with in huilt DAB, i'd recommend it highly

only issue is getting the receiver to stick to your windscreen, i solved that with a bit of velcro and double sided tape and fixing it to the pillar between the windscreen and passenger door
Bump

just bought a new car with DAB and it sounds so much better than FM plus lots more channels, only trouble im having is i will lose reception and its happening quite a lot, radio screen saying no reception, comes back on after about 5 seconds but very anoying, do you get this?, maybe its the shark fin antena im using 'there not rated' so proably better paying for a good one from a car audio shop

It happens but mostly in obvious black spots, otherwise it's an excellent piece of kit for a car with no inbuilt dab!

In the Mancunian areas we have no problem. When we travel back to our hills it all goes dreadfully wrong. No Heart, no Smooth FM and no nothing. We can get FM stations like the bbc but we do not tune in as we are non license holders and also the music's piss poor and their disk jockeys tend to chat shit more often than not.

We're like a clan of the invisible man and were not really here!

That's the one matey and reception wise anything on the heady climb through Rozzendorf and up the Grane road is impossible. We just normally hum to ourself until we reach the M65. Progress my arse!

If you do have DAB installed be careful if you fit a rear mounted dash cam. Some of the cheaper dash cams interfere with DAB frequencies and can seriously reduce the signal levels meaning DAB cuts out more often.

Anyone else feel that DAB is a bit pointless with the limited choice on offer?

Radio 6 which I'm not a massive fan of but appreciate it's long playlist, various genres, ages of music etc. Also a few of the channels for sports like Radio 5 Live Sports Extra, Talksport etc.

Otherwise it's just like 'my first playlist' of a small number of genres on each station. They only ever play the big songs that you've heard loads of times before and never seem to play any 'hidden gems'.

I honestly think that the few stations on FM/AM are better than the dozens of one dimensional stations that DAB is filled with.

You don't need a TV licence to listen to BBC radio channels (live or recorded catch up ).

Had to re-tune my car dab earlier today by 'seeking' 6music. Took me 4 miles to find it. Tons of stations in manc area, even get pirate.

I just hook up my phone to car stereo via Bluetooth and then play stations from Tune In app.
Considering the car has Bluetooth I'm surprised they (Nissan) didn't put a DAB radio in as standard.
