Daihatsu Partnership announced on OS in Indonesia

Anyone remember we signed a deal with a Sports drink company in Indonesia?

Was thinking about that reading this thread and managed to find one of their commercials.

Gave me a bit of chuckle. At least it isn't as bad as that god awful Venkys advert!

And so it continues. Sheikh Mansour and his family did not just achieve their wealth from finding "Texas Tea" in their back yard. They are modern day business men, with the brains and money to do whatever they want. We are in the best hands possible. A part of me still itches for the best bits of the good old days, but its not coming back, so we might as well be at the forefront of the new age in football.

But still worried if he gets bored will he walk away?

Would a world class business man simply "walk away" from a £1B investment that he is turning into a cash cow and global marketing brand for his other business interests?

I could see him SELLING at a future date, but clearly only to someone who had £1+B to spend, so you swap one Sugar Daddy for another. Or, maybe he creates a PLC and floats the company to extract value and reinvest, or walk the money away.

There are any number of possibilities, but until I see a scintilla of evidence to the contrary, this looks like a LONG TERM investment in the future of a global brand in club football.

In my experience the movers and shakers in the Gulf would rather part with their teeth than any of their glamour assets.
It´s like talking about what he will do with his half a billion dollar yacht if he gets bored.
Mind you, Topaz is a beauty ;-)

I didn't know that they were the 1st car manufacture in Japan. I wonder if they will do deals for city fans over here. If they did this, e.g. 10% off all new cars to Man City season ticket holders, would city fans buy there cars, as opposed to buying 1 from another one.
No. Don't like the look of them. Although Japanese cars are supposed to be very well made.

It´s a deal for Indonesia alone so will hardly be that much money involved but it seems like we are very popular in Indonesia in general which is very promising.

238 million people, and is the world's fourth most populous country.

Thats a lot of shirts
That's where they make the shirts though, so everyone's probably got a mate that can get them on the cheap.

But yeah, and important market for the future. Argh, just caught myself talking about my football club as a company. Fucking hell.

This is a far cry from Peter Swales announcing at the AGM that we as a club had bought a share of the TSB privatisation back in the 80's - I think it was about £3,000. He was genuinely serious and he thought it was a 'great move'. When someone on the floor suggested it was a joke he took great offence and said we should be proud that the club was making groundbreaking investments.... how times have changed.
