Think £17 million is too steep personally, good player though who can double as a left wing back and left midfielder. I think £8-10 million would be more sensible, especially since he's 27. I would like him actually, a better option for left wing whilst doubling up than Kolarov and we don't have any real left wingers.

Without doubt, Adriano is one of the two weakest links in the Barcelona squad.

The 27-year-old is believed to have been on City's radar for some time, with manager Roberto Mancini a big fan of the Brazil international.

And according to the Daily Star, the Italian is ready to launch a bid for the former Sevilla player when the transfer window reopens in January.

Mancini is keen on strengthening his back four in the New Year after seeing crucial goals conceded in key matches recently, especially in the Champions League.
