We have left Liverpool in serious trouble

Its great. They signed Allen on the basis of the funds they were receiving from the Agger deal. Due to their late greed we clearly had Rodwell as an alternative. They will be begging us to take Agger now and at a price We can dictate. I think he'll be wrapped up this week although, the way pool deal anything is still possible as last week showed. As for Rodwell, it's a great signing. He covers two key positions and will only improve.

We were going to buy Rodwell either way. We have been after him for years now. I fail to see how they are in serious trouble. Did they sign Allen for £50m+ with a 250k/week contract?

No, with £15,000,000 the yanks didn't want to invest from, their own pocket. They'll be desperate for us to take him now.
