This is the last post i'll make on this lad. He thinks he's something he's not and last night proved it. He's nothing but a small fish in a big pond and will end up a forgotten man.

Would love to have seen him linking up with Adebayor and Tevez and co, especially with Robinho out Sturridge may have really hit it off this season had he stayed. But no, we weren't good enough for Daniel and now there's rumours he's unhappy at Chelsea. Everyone except the lad himself knew he wasn't going to be a regular for Chelsea, even Kalou is ahead of him in the pecking order! Sturridge is young and has the potential to be a world class player, sadly I think the biggest thing standing in his way is his attitude. I'm glad he's gone, if he didn't appreciate the chance that he had with City then he didn't deserve to wear the shirt.

Dont care one way or another not going to turn into an Arse fan sulking because a players leaves us - he is gone that was his choice i wish him well but not really arsed one way or another to be honest.

Never rated Sturridge that much anyway apart from when he was knocking them in for fun when he was in the youth team.
He had a few good games for City but nothing that made me sit up and take notice.

Last night he had 3 good chances to score and failed to even hit the target for all 3 of them. Doubt he'll get many more chances after a performance like that....he didnt even get to see out the full game. Coming off on 62 mins when you're 2-0 up ain't the best endorsment of your 'talents'.

I'm starting to belive the rumours about him now.

I noticed lst night when Chelsea scored early on he was making a run to the far post. When the player (Maluda?) banged it in instead of crossing you could see Sturridge throw his head up in a frustrated way.

Later, when Drogba scored it panned to the Chelsea bench and they were all celebrating - except for Sturidge who looked gutted.

I know you can put this down to desire to impress, but it isn't exactly team spirited, is it?

So much bitterness in this thread. The lad is only 20 y.o ffs, and has bags of potential.

Sturridge's got plenty of time ahead of him to sort out his flaws and work on his game. He'll either work hard, learn from the world class talent around him and turn into a top player or fail and move on.

In any case, to dismiss the youngster after his first start in a new club that amounted to 60 minutes of a League Cup tie is ridiculous.
