Mendy has strong competition. I think Mendy edges it a bit but Danilo adds flair to moving and passing the ball. Two different executions of style.

The signing I was least excited about (and most sceptical of) has turned out to be one of our best players in this tournament, despite being with us for about a week. Really excited. Shows why we needed to sign fullbacks all those years ago.

Excellent again tonite, thought he was meant to be utter shit?!lol puts a real shift in and makes the pitch nice and wide. hard to believe he is a back up what a side we have assembled.

Mendy isn't a sure starter the way this lad has hit the ground running,couldn't believe some of his passing he's pretty quick as well ..

he's lightning, great through ball,his positioning was good.

It's still impossible to know how good a defender he is (apart from knowing he's better than what we had before) but his work in the build up is lovely to watch.

Danilo-Otamendi-Silva triangles were cutting Spurs up so easily, and he showed some nice play around the box.

Also one lovely 50 yard crossfield pass to Walker.

Shame he didn't get the goal he obviously wanted too! Great save from Lloris for one of them.

Danilo ripped Spuds apart , and made Spurs "first choice" right back Trippier , look like a donkey , if Danilo is only considered a squad player then we are in for a reasonably good season.
