Dzeko had a similar chance last night,he's also had plenty of similar others........

So if he's the same as Dzeko why sign him when we could be signing someone like Lacazette who is an improvement not just a cheaper version of the same player, none of Dzeko, Jovetic or bony have pace so if Aguero gets injured we need a similar player to step in like Lacazette not Danny fucking ings
Danny ings has pace you really don't have a fucking clue about any player thats not rated on fifa do you? try watching other teams! gives you a better picture of ability then a videogame

So because I have a different opinion to yours I must play Fifa! My opinion is based on seeing him in a hand full of games this season and he has not got real pace like the likes of Aguero, bale, Navas and Lacazette he's not slow but he certainly isn't fast.
And I don't play fifa.

I have to take clients to old Trafford some times in corporate and Wednesday was one of those times so I spent all game watching Ings and he is absolutely top class. His work rate and runs were brilliant and so is his touch

I was on the fence about him until Wednesday but he is the real deal for sure

I know the rags are shite but Ings stood out a mile

He is also very quick for his size

Last thing we need is to sign another then.

Why would we want this fucker blocking the development of our young players & moaning every week about how he can't get in the England squad because City won't play him ?

Close the thread now, this is all we need to know. Danny ings shouldn't be playing for city, ever.

these, the argument "we've bought some average players under Mancini so therefore should buy another" is ridiculous.

I like him too. Very clever player for someone so young. I reckon, all things remaining equal, he will have a better career than Kane and Austin. It would be interesting to see him in a better team.

Would we play him as a 4th striker? Does he play on the left?

Who are you referring to?

I personally think Austin is the least talented of the three and I will be surprised if Kane replicates this seasons form in 2015/16.

because we should learn from our mistakes, not that I think all of them are given time, but we need to develop a world class squad, and Danny Ings, like Scott Sinclair and Jack Rodwell, are not part of that.

Dzeko's goals won us the league btw, I don't see Danny Ings achieving that accolade.

Yawn more fucking history. When will you ever learn that we need to move on from what happened nearly 3 fucking years ago with Dzeko and the likes.
We`ve seen the other side of the coin when a club like Southampton give a playerof the like of Ings an opportunity. We don`t have to buy a full crew of world class players just because we can afford it.

Less than a year ago actually, but nevermind. A club like Southampton who won't win the league anytime soon and won't compete to any reasonable level in the CL anytime soon, right ok, see how they are directly comparable to City.

And yes we should stock our squad full of plenty of world class players, because that's what the elite clubs do, it's called having the best squad and having the best chance of winning multiple trophies every season. The addition of more world class players will also provide the added competition our current crop need.

We're not ickle City anymore. We need to step up to the mark of an elite club.

Nothing we do is 'elite'. The real big clubs always build around domestic talent; like it or not, our closest reference point should be Ferguson's United, because they were successful in the league we play in for 20 years.

Had SWP, Rodwell, Adam Johnson and Joe Cole gone to that United instead of us or Chelsea, they would most likely have fulfilled their potential in the manner Ferdinand, Rooney and Carrick did because Ferguson created an environment in which they could prosper, and they wouldn't have been a minority in the changing room; a proper English club, much like Rodgers is creating at LFC now.

Look at Sturridge; he was unable to maximise his potential with us or Chelsea, yet he goes to Liverpool and finally becomes what his talent warrants. That's not a coincidence.

In Italy, Internazionale has long been a graveyard for Italian talent who have then gone on to prosper for Milan and Juve; genuinely world class players like Cannavaro and Pirlo underwhelmed at Inter because their squad was colonised like ours.

Danny Ings has earned the right to an opportunity at a top club, that will provide the platform to gain the necessary experience to develop his game to the next level. In an ideal world, our club would facilitate it, but those running the club, like a lot of our fans, care little about identity and in turn naively overlook the principles of the great European footballing dynasties that we allegedly want to emulate.

Ings. None of the 'up and coming strikers' shouldn't be considered at all imo and our academy should take full priority.
