Someone wants fucking to let a talent like this just walk out the door is a disgrace City and whoever sanctioned the move should be sacked i cant fined words strong enough for the stupidity of some of the staff at the club .

And what sort of pittance were we paid for him?? Chelsea must be pissing themselves

I don't believe it was that simple,he wanted to leave and ran his contract down,'possibly' having been tapped up sometime earlier.
With add ons i think we were awarded about 6m and a small sell on clause.

Most people react by saying the player is shit when they leave..
Especially if they take time to adapt, don't see any problem with his attitude, but, a lot of people do say he is a *****

Anyone on here who thinks they have a clue about 'sturridge' the man are bonkers, I have known him and his family since he was 15 and although they obviously only wanted the best for him, they actually created a monster, the way he spoke to staff, the way his dad wanted preferential treatment, even to the very last contract proposal, pompous as fuck.....

Now I have spoken with him since returning to the north-west, he regrets everything about his departure from us and knows he missed a huge opportunity but the interesting factor was that his father is no longer beside him, the pressure seems to of lifted and maybe a true star is awakening, let's have it right- he can be shit hot if he wants.

Said it years ago and I've seen nothing to make me change my mind. He'll be England's next "Lineker"/"Shearer"/"Owen"

I've actually checked Linekers and Shearers careers to see where they were at his age and there doesn't seem a great deal of difference (obviously Owen was miles ahead). I agree he could well be the next sort of top English striker similar to these, he and granny shagger could make a good partnership at the next WC, who knows?

Should be a huge asset to City at the moment and would bang them in for fun in a decent team like this.

Nice to see that plenty of City fans are still swallowing Hughes' bulshit though.

Of all the players that Hughes did the dirty on and, shithouse that he is, briefed against to his snide mates in the press, this is the one that cost us the most.

Some people swallowed it hook, line and sinker though and will never acknowledge it (despite all the evidence of how Hughes operated and the actions and admitting of such actions of the likes of Rob Beasley since he left)

Funny that because there were reports of Terry and Lampard having to have a word with him because of his poor attitude at Chelsea. Obviously Hughesy and the boyo's making stuff up then?

not with his ego
A City fan dismissing a striker due to his ego is a bit paradoxical.

He's quality, Sturridge, and this loan move is absolutely the best thing for him. 6 goals in 8 league appearances is fantastic, and if he hadn't gone out on loan, I could only see him stagnating on the bench for Chelsea; whereas now, he's being given a chance in a first team and showing exactly why he deserves it.

It's always nice to see an English lad do well, and I hope he keeps developing and improving.

RE: compensation fee

The fee itself, even after 40 appearances for Chelsea and if/when he gets an England cap (when it maxes out), isn't that high, but we do have a 15% sell-on clause so if he does make it big and goes for like 20m, we'd be entitled to 3m of that.

Sounded very down to earth in his interview, took an undoubted 'step down' to move on loan to Bolton to play.

He has the 'swagger' when he plays but i think this 'ego' is a myth... i'd hypothetically have him back.

It is/was definitely not a myth. Whether he's matured or not I don't know (probably maturing) but there were definitely a lot of people at the club happy to see the back of billy big bollocks when he left. Always a talented homegrown lad though and it was disappointing to see leave the club

Thing is, i love Balotelli's 'don't give a fuck attitude' ... i think we could do with a few like that. Sturrige always had the ability, so what if he was a cocky little shit... it was up to our backroom staff to show him the right way, imo.

Ghana were trying to call Welbeck up to represent their NT..
So the FA swooped in & made sure he played.. They "Just in cased" Welbeck..

and the silly boy willingly accepted it. No one would've blamed him if he declined, to assess the situation better. He could be now marginalised out of International football. He must REALLY believe in his quality.

I always thought he was really talented, so smooth on the ball. Better talent than Wellbeck without a doubt

Except that it was only a friendly, and under FIFA regulations he can still play for Ghana.

Can still play for Ghana as not a full international

Owen was the next big thing at 17, Sturridge is 21 and playing on loan at mid table Bolton.

Saying that, if he does well i wish him the best especially as England need a natural goalscorer

And what about Shearer and Lineker?

Well i was very young when Linekar and Shearer finished/started so cant really comment but im guessing they were not 21 when they just about started to be recognised

Great! Otherwise I wouldn't have understood Welbecks decision..
It was obvious a carrot to try & persuade him not to commit to Ghana.

Oh and by the way.. Owen made the break at 17 but what happened in his latter career??
Everyone was talking about overplaying Wilshere, guys like Ronaldo.. & I don't mean Cristiano was carrying a team from 17.. Torres carried a team from 17..

Doesn't bode way for their later career.. and then you talk about Drogba or Henry.. When did they really start pulling up trees .. into their 20's & look how their formed lasted into their 30's..

Here's the thing, there is no "one" blueprint for how a players career should go on their way to being a world star. Most people only heard about Ronaldinho at 22.

Balotelli's full of promise & I hope that he actually realises at Man City I mean he's actually a year younger than Studge, his shot is incredible, I wish Studge had that shot power, he has the skills, pace.. You see it.. He has everything.. You know it can come together & you see people writing him off. It really is the same way City fans wanted to circle to write off studge..

I just hope Super Mario proves his undoubted quality the way Nintendo DS is doing.
