Yeah just look how badly the German teams fared in the CL last year. Minnows.

The set up of the german league means that the biggest clubs get bigger and stronger and the smaller clubs stay smalller and effectively get smaller. The Bunesliga is no where near as competative as ours and because they are that rich they pay the best wages get the best players and are therefore going to always compete for the CL

That shows how much you watch the Bundesliga. The funny thing is that in the recent years a couple of the small clubs fared very well... Where it seems only a question of money like in the Premier League in Germany it seems to be more about the sport itself, about tactics and teams - not about individuals...

That the big clubs get bigger does not have a lot to do with the Bundesliga but with the Champions League...

The only reason why the Bundesliga is less competitive right now is because Bayern seems to have a golden generation right now. The league still is very competitive when you look at the teams behind.

I think it is funny that you blame Bayern fans for ragish behaviour when you should look into your own fans for that.... It is just normal that we rate our players very high - they have performed very well the recent 12 months and that shows in the results.

Bollocks

The set up of the bundesliga means that a City or a PSG will almost certainly never happen and that is the only way Bayern will ever be threatened on a consistent basis. CL or no CL Bayern will always be i the CL year on year and will always be at an advantage. and the recent history proves that

You talk about a golden generation right now well i think Bayern won the German title something like 8 times in the last 10 yesrs or so (cant be arsed finding the exact number but its there or there abouts) so its been a fucking long golden generation

Bayern are a fantastic club no doubts but the German LEague is currently not competative and like you said the CL is the icing on thr cake - you seem a bit sensitive because i was talking about the cleague nor Bayern as a club in a negative way merely stating the fucking obvious and where you got the raggish fans comment from i aint a clue

Would be funny as fuck if the German rules on club ownership were changed and Sheik Gazillionare bought a middle ranking club but it wount happen because Bayern would be the first to complain about FFFP

Bayern have won 5 times in the last 10 years with 4 other teams also winning the league, only Dortmund managing to repeat that.

In England - United have won it 5 times in the last 10 years (Chelsea winning 3) with us and Arsenal having one each.

So all in all our league is slightly less competitive and our top teams are arguably weaker, when based on the two countries' recent records in the CL.

This all underlines that Dante is performing very well in an exceptional team in a comparable league to ours.

Do you know where Dortmund was some years ago? Far, far away from the top. Both - sports and budgetwise.

There is other clubs like Frankfurt or Freiburg last year that live on a real low budget and made it into the Europa League spots.

Without your Sheikh millions. Yes, Bayern will be always there to compete and right now really has something like a golden generation - and as they have the economic side and try to work wise they might keep that for a while, too - before they always had the blip years in which they failed to get the title.

But - behind Bayern there is a lot clubs that can establish themselves. Not every club - some will rise and fall. A club like Freiburg just does not have the other criterias like a big stadium and a lot fans.

I just sometimes think that some really do underestimate the Bundesliga. I do not want a tailcontest which is better or not or stronger - or more competitive. This year there is more fight in the title race in England - that is for sure. But - I do not think it is easier for Bayern to win in the Bundesliga than for e.g. Manchester City to do so in the Premier League - especially now when every of this young concept coaches that Germany fields wants to beat Guardiola and you play against teams that run their asses off 90 minutes. It is like playing a special version of Borussia Dortmund every week...

The EPL is more about individual strength and pace - the Bundesliga more about workrate and tactics.

Yes, Bayern's position does not seem to be in danger - but there is other clubs that are on the rise again. Wolfsburg, Gladbach, Leverkusen.

-- Mon Jan 20, 2014 9:46 pm --

It always does. And it is senseless anyways. Does not matter if he is good or bad - Bayern ain't no selling club. As long as a player has enough contract and he is needed - and Dante is - there is no sale. .

oh dear oh dear, bayern is not a selling club .. we're screwed !

You aren't either, or? Just your leftovers...

No that's not how you judge the competitiveness of a league.

The Bundeslliga is crap. It's a 2 horse race. It's crap and inferior.

1. Bundesliga isn't crap. lots of goals and brilliant tactical matches.
2. It's not even a 2 horse race this season.

It's a 1 horse race this season because half of the Dortmund squad is injured.

Oh and there's goals and brilliant tactical matches in Iran as well.
You're sounding like a complete muppet tbh

Fox Sports Brasil say United have signed him. Rather sudden if true, surely Bayern don't want to lose a defender at this stage of the season?

Rafael Hernandez on twitter via Fox Sports, suggesting Dante to them lot is a done deal, just needs to be signed - quotes from the player too...........we'll see!

I really hope the rumours are true.

if Unite have signed this fella then the pressure he'll be playing under will lead to some catastrophic mistakes. A good defender with time and no real pressure. He will really struggle in the Prem.

I maybe wrong, but I doubt it.

Dante's agent has denied the Bayern Munich defender has signed for Manchester United but admitted scouts from Old Trafford have been watching him.

Reports in Brazil on Tuesday afternoon suggested a deal had already been reached for the 30-year-old Brazil international. However, when asked on live TV if he had signed for David Moyes' men, Dante responded "not yet," but admitted that there is interest from the English champions.

"I'm thankful for the Manchester United interest, it will all be sorted out by the end of the month," he said.

And Dante’s agent Marcus Marin has confirmed to The Independent that he is in negotiations with Bayern Munich over a new deal but did not rule out the possibility of a switch to the Premier League.

“There is no agreement with Manchester United,” he said.

“We are currently in negotiations with Bayern over a new year and his first option is to play there. He is very happy in Germany at the moment but if nothing can be arranged in the next few weeks then of course he would have to explore his options elsewhere.”

Marin added: “Dante is at a crucial stage of his career so he needs to think about one last big contract. He has had a brilliant year and won several medals so we know how important the next few months will be. We are hoping that something can be resolved before the World Cup.”
