Dark Knight Rises

Some people have been dying to see this. It's a lot of bang for your buck. Going to be number one with a bullet (and a smoke bomb). Maybe I'll wait till the queue has died down a bit.

Yes, sorry, not funny. But no irony in that fact that people are killed on their way to see such a pro-violence movie? In Colorado? And then I read that people get killed in Norway on socialist retreats so we shouldn't investigate gun control, y'know, just in case?

Aside from the fact that it's probably a lot of fun and includes spectacular arsage and other thrills for whatever sort of viewer, does anyone else think that the sensitivity at work here is dark, repressive and even sadistic? Movies are all about the time they are made, so what does this tell us about the world and what folk buy (into)?

Not sure of your point, but films have(more or less) always been 'of their day'. This is no different.

I mean, wasn't Dillinger killed outside a cinema after coming out from seeing a film?

Watched this tonight.

Amazing film. Misses the comedic aspect of the joker, but bane is a different animal altogether. Hardy is a beast in it. Hathaway is pretty sexy in it aswell.

Well worth the watch though!

Good film

only criticisms is hardys voice, sounded like joe pesci on acid , was too long, way to confusing for a kid and even by Batmans standards to many ''as if's''

having said that , i did really enjoy it !

7.5/10

It's a good movie, nothing special. Thought the Dark Knight was better personally. Catwoman is fit as fuck though!

Wow.

There are some serious fan boys of Nolan's work. There are a hell of a lot of shortcomings on this piece, but the Nolan apologists will hear none of it!

So I can't understand if some of know anything about Bane's original character! He was supposed to be THE nemesis for Bats and Nolan reduced him to a sideshow! Shameful writing. Bane was supposed to be superior to Bats in every way and only vanity being his ultimate downfall.

Re-writing Robin's character was a joke, but at least it leaves the next instalment with a more darker possibility, seeming as 'Nightwing' (Robin's future character) does things Bats didn't, mainly offing foes here and there.)

A GENEROUS 7/ 10.

He's done with the series mate no more.
Bane showed his power by snapping Batman in two and putting him out of action. Wayne then worked hard managed to get back and went at Bane with as much brute force as he could muster. He got a lucky shot on Banes mask which fucked Bane up, I think he only became a sideshow after the revelation about Miranda Tate came out which was very far into the movie. It wasn't perfect I agree mate I enjoyed it though!

I think he has put to bed re-boots as no director will want to touch Batman for a long time now.

Not sure why you're recapping stuff for me as I've seen it!!

The main question about Bane is why is there none of this legendary intelligence? The film compromises any possibility of Bane being capable of his own thought when Tate emerges as the 'leader' of 'The League of Shadows'.

It was a silly move of behalf of the Nolans.

As for Bane's power, there is no clue why he possesses it. Just a wall punch reveals the true extent of his power! And...??

So Bane gets his face chewed off or battered in, fine. The mask is what, then? What is it attached to?? Given that it is his 'obvious' Achilles heel, why not protect it better?

I know there is no further film from Nolan (thank fooking goodness) on Batman, I was saying how he leaves the door open for 'Nightwing' to emerge from Bats shadow as he is NOT Batman.

He manages to trap the police underground cut of the island and installs new justice whether his plan or not still intelligent in the execution and manages it pretty flawlessly. His mask seems quite Bulky as it is there is only so much you can do. The mask is never fully explained though but its clearly the reason for his failure as without that lucky punch and damage to the mask he would have chewed batman up. While Talia who would be the successor as leader being daughter of the leader works on Wayne. There is no "Venom" mentioned as to his power but I think you were upset in the alterations made to him. Fair enough.

Well, let's get it right; I'm not upset at Bane. I'm annoyed that Nolan doen't quite know which incarnation of Bane to use. Talia is the leader of the Shadows, yet what is Bane's role, then? A henchman?? If the ambush of Gotham is Bane's idea, why the fook would he serve Talia??

It makes no sense.

Nolan has basically twisted the origins of Bane and used it for Ghul's daughter which, again, makes no fooking sense!!

As with TDK, the Nolan bros have picked out bits and bobs of comic books to make a new version and it's dumb. Did you know that at some point Bane thought he and Bats were blood brothers and Wayne actually allows Bane to live with him??

Ha! That actually would have made a better film! And that Bats was hooked on Venom first before Bane!

I'm getting more annoyed thinking about how Nolan has butchered Bane!

He felt a fatherly love for her I guess as he helped raise her, Baine servers her because of this fatherly love for her and believes in what she wants to do and wants to help her anyway he can even willing to sacrifice himself and die for the plan. I guess Nolan decided to change things up and make new surprises for the audience. Like not calling Robin Dick Grayson. He chose to change things up give it a new twist. Rightly or Wrongly I guess sacrifices had to be mad and he chopped and changed. I wonder if a director will pick up the Nightwing story like you said before would be interesting but I don't think another director will touch Batman for ages!

Most of your criticisms seem to be in the way the characters and story arcs differed from the comics combined with a hatred for Chris Nolan.

Robin was handled pretty much perfectly and as well as any film version could be expected to. The fact that he managed to make him a believable non-annoying character is an achievement in itself but making me want to see a full film made after this following his character is exceptional.

As for Bane, he was the better of Batman in every sense for pretty much the entire film. It was only at the end that his true motivations were revealed but it was still his plan, his strength, his intelligence which allowed him to plan and execute everything leading up to that point. OK, so he was doing it for Talia's ultimate goal with the League of Shadows but that doesn't alter what he had done.

The ONLY complaint I can have with the whole thing is that Bane was killed off too quickly and without enough significance.

The best of the 3 films and that is some achievement given how good the first 2 were.
