*****POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT*****
*****POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT*****

Loved the film, as did my 10 year old.

Was REALLY disappointed at the ending though. Don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it but I wish the series would have ended definitively after this one.

Would have had more integrity if they hadn't left it open for a sequel. Nolan's trilogy has been excellent and beautifully self contained. Why sully it with a hint of a sequel at the end?

Anyone else agree???

I am only guessing, but maybe the comic books dictated the end of the film?

This.

Bruce Wayne was the first Batman.

I've never read the comics but hated the whole "seems the autopilot was fixed some months ago", implying that batman/wayne is still alive.

Just did quick bit of research into the orig comics and don't think this ever happened, if that's what you're suggesting.

I'm not really bothered if the films don't exactly match the comic plots, but I'd rather the series has a start and an end, rather than a hint at some sequels at the end. Just makes me feel a bit cheated, sort of as if the producers are treating their viewers as cash-cows.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this is the only film/tv show guilty of it. Just think the trilogy would have had so much more integrity had the series ended with Nolan's final cotribution.

Still loved it though.

Personally I think it is better not to be a fan of the comics, and not know much, if anything, about the stories and characters. The only negatives about this film seem to be coming from batman fanboys.

Yeah, not a fan boy.

I just understand the arc of Bane and how he was supposed to be Bats true nemesis (people think that that's Joker, but I beg to differ).

My main problem with Nolan, as with all his films, is that we know nothing about the main protagonist and we just 'dive in' to what ever is happening from the 'getgo'.

It's truly annoying.

Don't really think it was put in in relation to setting up a sequel, I fully expect that this is the last we'll see of this Batman universe.

The whole overarching theme of the 3 films has been that Batman is supposed to be a symbol to inspire people and the ending shows it has.

Personally thought the ending of the film was absolutely perfect.

Have you seen the film?

Altho the auto pilot being fixed implied he was alive I'd suggest the scene with him in at the end shows he is still alive.

Have I seen the film? Of course not! Since when was it a prerequisite of this site to have any informed knowledge of the subject at hand ;)

No way is the original better! Perhaps a scarier, gruffer voice, but you really cant understand him, even less than the theatrical version!
