I note that the PS3 tends to block quite a few films from playing.
Is there a way to make stuff PS3 'friendly'??

stony your custom made dvdr is ready mate.
I have a better method now but the quality is fine for playback.
Next dvdr's will be perfect, using the whole size of dvdr and i will use CRF (constant rate factor) as my encoding method.
The dvdr's i make for you from now on will be the best possible spec to the size of the media.
I had not worked with dvdr (mpeg2) for a while but it only took a few minutes reading to catch up on newest methods.
I will be using indutry standard tools aka CCE (cinema craft encoder) with a custom plugin i have made that allows CRF as the method to encode the video.
TL;DR You will not get a better dvdr from anywhere before i make one no matter what torrent site or usenet stuff.
I am still testing certain parameters but i can assure you that the quality will be as good as any studio rls since they use the same tools i will be using :).

Yes Bigga i will walk you through this.
It is not simple if your not used to it but i can show you via teamviewer.
I will install all needed tools to make you a .m2ts file from your hd/sd files and make you a .bat package so all you need to do is click the .bat file and the video in the dir you use will get converted to ps3 friendly/native format :)

I have it on now in 1080p on my tv, it's beautiful
I do now however have the full blueray (64GB).
