The game has moved on a lot in recent years. An average of over 100 was quite rare in the 1980s. Now it’s routine.
All the record averages in each tournament have been in the last 10-15 years.
Presumably it’s partly down to better technology darts but also because darts players aren’t drinking large quantities of beer during matches any more.

I don't know pal Cross, Van Der Bergh and Wade have all looked varying degrees of wankered over the last week. Usually have a couple of pints to one side during matches as well!

I think for many that go, it’s like a generic away day at the football, but without the rivalry.

Just an excuse to get pissed, chant generic football chants and wear fancy dress.

And watch finely tuned athletes at the peak of their sport while drinking or throwing lots of beer
