Can’t knock Taylor though. I know overall he wasn’t at this level scoring wise, the averages back then were nowhere near as good as this. He hit 2 nine darters on one game against Wade in the Premier league final.

Taylor was absolutely sensational, I don't think anyone will ever come close to him for consistency, Year in year out he was there at the top of his game.

So many players now have one or two really good years and then have a big drop off.

Personally I think that's harsh, If Taylor had to put the extra work in on the dartboard for the present day he probably would, He played against some serious opponents too that can't be dismissed.

Unfortunately it's all if, buts and maybes so we'll never know.

Darts is weird now because it feels like everybody can beat everybody. The standard even outside the top 5 has gotten so high.

I love Luke Humphries personally and he's usually the person I'd like to see succeed.
Or Gezzy, obviously :)

I’m not really a fan of anyone in particular just enjoy the event at this time of year. There are some good young Dutch and Belgian players coming through. I’ve a little each way on Nijman but cannot see past Littler or Humphries to win
