Darts 2024

I wanted MVG to give Littler a bit of reality check and thought it would be really close, maybe with nerves getting the better of Littler but it was the opposite really, I think he will go on to dominate the next 3 to 5 years at least, was watching the final thinking nobody can compete with him and he wasn’t even at his best.

Steady on Jim!

He wont as there are too many good players now. Taylor didn’t have as much competition. That attempt at 132 to win the match shows how natural he is. Bull bull to set up double 16 is just unbelievably good.

I watched those two comedians trying out darts earlier and it showed how hard it is. My mate last year missed the board, missed the surround and the dart almost hit someone in the head :-)
There was a much worse match a few years back when the thrower hit single 20, treble 20 and the third dart bounced out and hit a bloke dressed as a Mother Superior - it stuck in his head and he had a heart attack and died.

And the scorer called (altogether now).......

"One nun dead and eighty!"

How we love to try and bring the best down. (I'm talking to you Premier league!!)

Just stating facts. I'm happy for him and his win was well deserved but it wasn't the highest quality of finals.

Littler's average in the final wasn't even in the top 10 of winners averages.

Remember how we wanted people to say that we'd done "just enough" but forgetting how we trounced Bayern and real. It's the English way to shit on the best....however they choose to do it.

For a neutral that wasn't a good game of darts. Too one sided even with the standard of the winner not being particularly high.

can tell the posters with zero brain cells on here that think it's hilarious to slag off his Mum and Dad for their looks.
I can't understand why his mum gets the shit on here from people for supporting her son through out the last decade.
It's not like she's the only person involved in darts who's overweight. As she done something or said something to upset people ?

Gutted I missed this. How one sided was it? I sort of wanted Van Gerwen to win just to give the others hope he wouldn't be dominating for a decade.

This lad is brilliant. Taylor took the game to whole new levels as he raised the bar, everyone had to play catchup. Now, Littler, has raised it even higher. Finalist at 16, world champ at 17, if he doesn't get the yips and stays mentally strong he will be around for a good 40 years. Good for him.

The set scoreline suggests it really.

70-30%.

Early on MVG missed doubles at the wrong time and Littler hit his.

Then it went with throw for a few sets, with more power scoring.

People suggesting that it wasn’t a great final aren’t necessarily saying it was a poor standard, just that it never really ignited.

The bull finish for Littler to win a set was probably the most pivotal moment, but there weren’t many others.

Brilliant from the young lad. Confident without being too cocky. To have that belief and no nerves at his age is special. His finishing kills it.

Yeah, he can be a force for years and years if he keeps on it and stays in love with playing.

He seems to cope with it all well, but he's still 17, even if he looks 37.

He's got people watching darts that don't usually, he's exceptionally good, getting fame, money, etc etc often those things can be a recipe to send young people off the rails.

The best thing he can do is probably keep his head down for a few years, stay away from hangers on and keep playing. The novelty will wear off for plenty because he'll no longer be a kid winning things, he'll be an adult who is a great darts player. It'll probably mean less eyes on him bit probably better for his career in the long run.

Is Littler a utd fan? I don’t think it’s been mentioned anywhere;)
He will get to see them live now as that bunch of chancer’s will be desperate to bring him on to the pitch at the first available opportunity.

They have history for it - Chilean Miners, Thai Cave Boys, Jade Jones, Rory McIlroy, Usain Bolt etc etc.
