Yeah they didn't take off because checkouts are a fucker to work out. Darts did/does a lot of innovation to vary things up a bit. Bit like Formula 1 and the era where they had cars with about 8 wheels or massive spoilers. Just trying things to see what works.

Still does to some degree with the differences in some tourneys in terms of sets or legs or Double in, Double Out, etc.

EDIT: Oh the smallest ring was times 4 in case you weren't aware. So single, Double, Treble and Quadruple. Think you could 7 dart finish on it.

I bet they wish Cross wasn’t in the top 4 so they could bin him off too. Bit unfair on Clayton and Heta who are above all of Price, Aspinall and Dobey in the rankings but they are probably too dull.
