My Micro SD card on my Android phone has decided to tell me its damaged and that I need to format it. My Laptop tell me the same thing. I don't want to lose the many photos, music and notes on it if I format it. I've tried some recovery software (ICare or something) but it asks me for £70 for a key if I want to save anything!!

Does anyone know of any good free recovery software??

Tried it but it simply states I cannot read from the location i am trying to recover from !
Makes sense really. The ICare sofware was a Format recovery tool, but like I said they want cash in order to save the files you fond on it :(

I used this with it's sister app:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk</a>

to recover data & photos from a hard drive. It did a great job.

This is the app you want, check your inbox.

My memory stick with about 50gb of audio on it is showing up.as empty and needing formatting

I'm doing a data recovery job with software called Disk Drill but that's a free version with limited amount of recovered data allowed. The premium version is over £100.
I can see there are cheaper programs.

Anyone ?

What about Disk Drill? Is it worth considering? I came across reviews and comparisons of Disk Drill and several other data recovery software options on macgasm.net. They offer detailed insights into each program's features, performance, and user experience, which can be incredibly helpful in making an informed decision. Additionally, Macgasm often provides real-life success stories where users have successfully recovered their data using these tools. It might be worth exploring further to see if Disk Drill or another software fits your specific data recovery needs.
