My favourite pop star for several of my early years as a music fan. Only bought tickets this weekend to see Earl Slick and Bernard Fowler perform Station to Station, that will now be a very emotional event.

Grew up listening to this guy. Absolutely shamed to say I didn't even know he had cancer. One of the greats. RIP.

No need to be ashamed mate - this has taken everyone by surprise. Clearly he and his family wanted to keep his illness secret.

A true musical legend in my eyes. Not big on the RIP thing but RIP.
