Heard him on the radio the other day, was very complimentary about the professionalism of the people in charge of the club, and their commitment to maintaining the traditions and history of the club.

Have also heard/seen him wax lyrical about FCUM, I think he is a member there which I don't understand of any blue.

His backing of Supporters Trusts far exceeds his support of just one club.

He's an old fashioned romantic when it comes to football.

Eleven local lads brought up through the youth team, managed by a former hero, owned by a local multi-billionaire from Gorton, playing in a falling-apart stadium, followed by 20,000 hardy souls drinking bovril and eating Wagon Wheels.

For all his business acumen, David Conn still hankers after a simpler more noble time.

Daft sod.
That made me laugh but it's true and I suspect he wouldn't deny it either.

Without Shinawatra we would not have our current owners. Apart from that it's a good post!

I cannot fathom how someone who pretends to be a city fan can set foot anywhere near FCUM.

I found that bit to be sickening to be honest.

I also can't understand how you can detach yourself from how you feel about a club that has been through as much shit as ours.

These middle class journalists always give it the big one about how money ruins football yet he is comfortable charging £16.99 for his book and I bet he doesn't live in a two up two down in tower hamlets.

Barry Conlon........sure was and I got a line but not a full house...........................great day.......

I think the fact that he attended the derby and sat at the front of the South Stand dispels that myth. I suspect he's persona non grata at Manchester City.

Fantastic read so far I'll Defo order the book
