When people talk about Silva all they mention is his offensive qualites, but defiensfly he´s has been suberb. Watching games over and over again makes you realise how much the lad tracks back. It´s refreshing to see someone as talented as him tracking back and helping his teammates out(altough it´s job) it´s only a few worldclass players that does it, him being one them. Have you noticed it as well?

When Milner plays on the right he covers for Micah, that´s not really his job as a winger to clean up after Micah who likes to go forward alot. Funny how in the beginning of the 6-1, Darke or McManaman said others had to cover for Silva b/c he doesn't help out defensively. Yet MOTD showed how both Silva and Milner assisted Clichy and Richards respectively that day.
Overall, in that area, I think he's gotten better under Mancini.

When playing with Zaba his defensive work rate and effectiveness goes up quite a bit. Perhaps it's the fact they are able to communicate effortlessly... not sure.
