Never a contract dispute, never a whinge. Has played while hurt. He is over his ankle issues and we are seeing him at his very best.

Consistently targeted by opposition and still goes and gets the ball and affects change.

Yep it is wrong. He has scored 35 goals for Spain

Looking at that list I forgot how good Fernando Hierro was, better than 1/3 for a centre half/defensive midfielder, brilliant!!

David was playing as a forward on the right wing, much higher as in Pep's setup.
Maybe the quality of the Costa Rica defence was a reason, too.
