The way he buys himself space and time is unparalleled.

The weight of his touch and his pass is absolute perfection.

An incredible player.

What I like even more though, even
though he is blessed with all of the above, he is as humble as they come. He grafts, he fights, he leads by example, he is an on-field father figure for the others and there is never a bad word said by him or about him.

We have been beyond lucky to have him.

An absolute God in my eyes.

Most graceful player I've ever seen play football. It really is the beautiful game when David Silva is on the pitch.

He's contributed as much as anyone and more than most to where MCFC are now. The only thing I think would be appropriate would be to wish him and his family all the joy in the world. i think next season will be one to treaure as much as the previous nine have been glorious!

My favourite ever City player by a mile,can honestly say I haven’t seen him have a bad game,his reverse pass to Milner who scored v Everton at home in 2011 was sublime,would be a fantastic end to his City career if he lifted the CL trophy to complete his collection.Winner,warrior,worker,his vision and application has been vital to our success.

I'm glad he's going a year too soon rather than a year too late. I'd hate to see him outpaced and frustrated.
He owes us nothing.
We owe him everything.
Last game of the season will be 50,000 blubbering as El Mago leads out the team with Matteo at his side wearing his Junior Blues kit with pride. Pass the tissues.

I’m dreading the norwich game already, his last ever game at the etihad, lets hope he’s one more game for us after that :-)
