I wouldn't be overly happy if he fucked off to Japan or America tbh if he was going back home to play for his hometown team then I can get with that romance but the other way would make him a mercenary and let's face it he can hardly need the cash.

Why?
A guy with a young child, New York is hardly an ideal place for a family man, Miami is a stunning location, big Hispanic community and fantastic climate.

David Silva being a City legend doesn't mean he's the right player for NYCFC even if Merlin did fancy it. It's not a retirement home, they have to try and build their own team and if someone leaving us slots into what they need then perfect, otherwise it's just going to cause problems and you get some of the disaster star players like Lampard and Gerrard were in MLS which doesn't help anyone.

Was Lampard, a disaster for them? i remember some hurrah about the loan to us but seem recall him doing pretty well for them, his stats certainly seem OK 15 goals in 29 appearances.
