David Silva leaves City after 10 years

Not a big fan of statues. Who to honour and who not?
Alan Oakes played over 700 games for City, but has no memorial.
I like Gary James idea: a sort of champions walk with all the greats represented by a plaque or stone. That way, we all can luxuriate in the memory of our particular favourite.
Still, if we have to have a statue, Dave deserves it more than most.
Thank you, El Mago.

Would be good to have a Bell Lee and Summerbee statue but I guess it’s not likely having no history

As others have said, just Silva doesn’t seem right as football is a team game.

Newcastle presumably honour Shearer somewhere (the Premier League’s top scorer too) but he carried them.

A number of players contributed to the success at City. De Bruyne could usurp Silva if he carries on as he is.

Will the statues of Vinny and Merlin be next to a birthday cake?
Can you imagine Yaya’s social media reaction to that?

He slips away as quietly as he arrived - which is probably just the way he wanted it. What a decade of brilliance and so many triumphs. In that first season there were flashes of sublime skill and impeccable passing, technical expertise and a mastery of the ball. An FA Cup Winners Medal. We already knew he was a very good player but then to the Swamp in October 2011. He'll probably be snuffed out, physically muscled out of it and, like City, probably look good but end up being bested by Fergie's team in the heat of a derby match - those game the Rags "knew how to win". Not a bit of it. Dave, totally at home, ball glued to his feet, probing and teasing United. Scored one, assist of the season for another, heavily involved in two of the other goals. The quiet El Mago looked on a different level that day. Hope he returns to a packed Etihad one day soon to receive the ovation he so richly deserves.
