Daniel Taylor from the Guardian just posted on twitter than the Valencia specialising journo's out in South Africa are telling him Silva will NOT go to us. He wants Madrid and we have an image problem in Spain

Has he ever posted anything positive about City?

I must say that's what I was told too. But what happens if they don't want him?

To be honest I can't understand why Jose would prefer Di Maria to Silva but it certainly seems from his comments that Di Maria is the one close to joining Madrid. They definitely won't sign both.

Personally it seems a long shot that Silva will want to come to us although he may be one that would need to see us sign others like Yaya and Ibra before he took the plunge.

The image problem we have is that we are not RM, Barca, Liverpool, AC Milan or even Chelsea.

And that is why atm we will have problems convincing the best players in the world to come unless thay have issues.

Ade had problems with Wenger and the fans.
Tevez with Fergie but wanted to stay local.

Yaya has problems with Barca as does Ibra. But even so I am not sure either of them want to come to City.

However Silva is different he doesn't really want to leave Valencia.

However players already in England have a slightly different view. Milner can see that currently we are an upgrade on Villa. Gerrard may well feel the same as he knows the problems Liverpool have got. And with today's news that Mourinho is asking Inter about Motta a distinctly average midfielder maybe Stevie G is not nailed on to be at Real next year.

Good players from the German and Dutch leagues will still want to come to City. So I see no reason why we can't get them in and challenge for the league next year.

People dont want to hear it but the reality is we have less than no chance of signing Silva.

We dont have champions league but more importantly he doesnt want to leave Spain, he doesnt even want to leave Valencia.

He has said many many times if he does have to leave he will only consider going to Real Madrid. If they dont sign him this summer he has said he will stay one more season at Valencia and sign for them next summer.

Time and again Silva and his agent say he will not leave spain and he will only go to Madrid or maybe Barca the same as David Villa. So forget about this one it definately will not be happening.

As said above top players from the dutch and german leagues are happy to sign for city and are more than good enough to get us where we are going, Kompany, De Jong have proved this.

We made a huge mistake when we didnt go for Snider last summer, £11 million what a bargain. These players adapt well to our league and culture and the style of play in the prem. They dont mind the weather or being kicked. Its where we should be spending most of our money IMO.

I think Silva would choose Real over us atm as we are not in the Champions League just yet. It has now been reported that a number of clubs are interested in him and I also think we have acted way too slow with a suppose meeting the other day requiring a follow up meeting... why? Valencia have made it public knowledge for a reason and that's because they want to start a bidding war between interested parties and in doing so get the best return possible.
