Manchester City have sensationally lost out on the £29,000,000 signing of 24-year-old Spain international midfielder David Silva. Real Madrid manager earmarked Angel Di Maria for the role on the left side of midfield, but has always had admiration for the Valencia midfielder who also interested Inter Milan, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool amongst other European giants.

The unvieling of a player of his calibre and magnitude comes out of the blue after moving to Manchester City prior to a medical was seemingly just a formality and will leave Manchester City chief executive Garry Cook bitterly dissapointed despite a meeting with Valencia this afternoon. He only learned of Real Madrids late bid for the Spain star on arrival for the meeting but baulked at Los Che's president, Manuel Llorente's demands for them to better Los Galácticos offer and consequently walked away from the table leaving Real Madrid's completion of the deal a mere formality.

Real Madrid doctor Carlos Diez went over to perform a medical at Spains international camp with the consent of manager Vicente Del Bosque who moved swiftly to complete proceedings prior to thier crucial 2nd round tie Vs Portugal this evening.

I doubt even the Mail would publish an article as riddled with errors as that.

I was bored so when I stumbled accross a picture of him in a Real Madrid shirt I thought I'd have a bit of fun with it. I'm sure Ono could probably turn it into something good on the Red Dippers forums. At least people know I'm not a wum because even if I wanted to be, I'd still fail at it, haha! =)

The departure of David Silva Valencia seems imminent. The President of the set of Mestalla, Manuel Llorente, met Monday with managers of Manchester City to close the transfer of the player.

Among the details that were discussed at the meeting is the solution of all procedures between the two sporting bodies and agree on the exact amount by which the transaction closes.

Also at the meeting discussed the method of payment. In this sense, the intention of the Primera Liga club is receiving a large portion of the amount agreed upon in a first payment.

Similarly, in the context of the negotiations is the entrance of Roque Santa Cruz in the operation. Materialize the agreement, the striker could set anchor in Valencia on loan.

The output of the Canary Islands for 35 million could be closed. The contract offered by the English club is for the next five seasons.

Meanwhile, the player is 'alien' to the rocking of information that occur on its future. The player tries to stay out of the facts while still contesting the World Cup with the Spanish team.

In fact, on Tuesday the national team will play a crucial match against Portugal. This could imply a delay in the announcement of the departure of the player, should be closed on Monday.
