David Silva not recognised by PFA members - again

The only reason he is at city is because his finishing is poor otherwise he would undoubtedly have been picked off by one of the so called super clubs ... Probably been our best player this season

In my opinion that's utter bollocks. Apart from the bit about being our best player.

We are a superclub. People need to get away from the little City mindset. And we have so much money we don't need to sell to anyone, not even Real Madrid.

It is just who the players vote for, I don't think there is a year when a city players hands down deserved to win. When van Persie beat Serg he had scored 37 to Serg's 30, and when Suarez beat Yaya he had an outstanding season.

City have under achieved this year, unlikely to get many votes.
Not that many votes when we win trophies either. Sergio's goals totals have been curtailed by injury. Best goals per minute record in the history of the Prem. As the most successful trophy winning team of the last five or six years you would have thought we'd have at least one player of the year.

2 PL, 2 LC, 1 FAC, and a Community Shield winners medals playing for us and a glittering international career with 111 appearances, 30 goals, 2 European Cup and 1 World Cup winners medals, David Silva has been consistently one of the best midfield players in the PL over a number of seasons. He gets kicked, clattered and impeded more than most, yet his stat's stand are outstanding. If he played for the Rag's he would have won POTY at least 4 or 5 times.

He just quietly gets on with it, and fair play to him for that.
Couldn't agree more. A very down to earth guy who shuns the limelight and doesn't spend all his time trying to get on TV with rubbish, thicko English player type comments. Colin Bell (another modest guy/stellar player) says he's the greatest ever City player.

There cant be many players who have achieved a Passing accuracy of 92% ,playing away from home, ever,in the Premier League.
Silva,s quiet, classy, accomplished performance against Southampton the other day went pretty much under the radar...
But all true football lovers on the planet enjoyed watching his high class ,central midfield, possession based game..
David Silva is simply a consummate professional footballer.
Who cares about the silly pfa.?
92 per cent passing accuracy - and nearly all forward adventurous passes through small gaps. I'm 56 - so remember our great 60s/70s team and David is a God of a player.

Great comment.

It is on a season by season basis not on the history of the prem - otherwise Giggs and Shearer would still be winning it. No one from City has outright deserved to win it, otherwise they would have, it isn't a stats contest but a popularity one. No taking turns between big clubs or taking into account league winner the season after.

Yeah pretty sure Dave has a better strike rate than either.

Silva's strike record is similar to Iniesta, Zidane and Xavi. But because he plays for Manchester City, he "doesn't score enough goals". Never heard that said about the other 3.

If Silva played for a G-14 club, they'd be calling him one of the best players of his generation. Which is is, without any question.
