David Silva signs one year contract extension(p33)

They should compile a video of him playing (wouldn't even call it a highlights video cos everything he does he makes it look so easy) so they can teach kids that having a footballing brain makes up for sheer physical strength and height, he knows just how to position himself to stop even the biggest lump from knocking him off the ball, coupled with his vision, workrate and tenacity (he knows when to leave a foot in) makes him the blues best ever in my book. long may it continue

I really think the Premier League should do the decent thing, recognise how privileged they have been to see a player of this beauty grace their league and pay his salary until the end of his contract.

So pleased he's signed an extension. A little story for you...a couple of years ago I was doing a quick shop at Sainsbury's in Wilmslow just before it closed. The store was dead, only a few people dotted about. Suddenly there was a bit of a racket on the next isle...a woman shouting in Spanish. When I walked past I saw El Mago...he was getting marched away from the instant meals/junk food by a small old Spanish woman. I heard somewhere that he has a live in cleaner/cook/friend so could've been her or his mum that he was getting a bollocking off!

Is he still looking to go to Las Palmas after this contract?
David always used to talk about it but as it gets nearer he says he wouldn't want to let his fellow Gran Canarians watch him & think he's past it.

He is humble and wouldn't be arrogant enough now to think Las Palmas would even want him aged 34/35.

He may decide to bow out after leaving City hopefully with a CL winners medal to complete his set.

He is looking forward to going home to Arguineguin for the sun & family life...he's a simple guy. In the meantime he is fully committed to us and thriving under Pep. He really does love the club & the 10 years thing fills him with pride. I am proud to say I have wound him up for a couple of years now about the 10 years = Legend/Colin Bell status

I have already nominated myself as the testimonial party organiser

Yeah that's fair enough. I have family who live there and one works for Anfi and she has met David a couple of times and she has always said hes a really nice and humble guy, very easy going and always has time to speak to people. Ive also been to his beach bar on Amedores beach and that is stunning. I can imagine once he retires he will probably walk away from football and just live a quiet life
