David Silva Song?

Haha good lad, Liam. Beat me to it but at least we are on the same wavelength.

Cracking song this!

It got going in a few pubs at games towards the end of last season. So no doubt it will take off this season. A proper decent footy chant, this one.

I've said many times before, we're lucky that Manchester has a rich history of fantastic music - why try and start songs to the tunes sang by European ultras when you could use the melodies from Mancunian music?

Yeah i agree with that. I like the colours and banners that you see with European Ultras (not overly keen on over the top tifos, although some are good) but i find their songs monotonous. There's one song that Bayern München sing just after half time and it goes on for about fifteen minutes, on and on, and they sing it every single game at the same time for the same length of time. It has no words apart from "Bayern" or "München" at the end of a load of "der"s and "oah"s. It's simply boring.

I like how England is different to the rest of Europe on the songs front. We do have a great wealth of songs that we can convert into football chants - with words! And the Manchester music scene is ready made with dozens and dozens of songs we can use. I like the old Gareth Barry one from The Smiths ("You're the one for me, Barry..."). It think we could change "Barry" to "City" and get that going as a staple City song too.

I just wish football fans in this country would be a bit louder and sing more with our own style across all stadiums.

You'll be pleased to know that it was me and my mate that came up with that in Dortmund 2012. Couldn't quite get words for "Pellegrini Palare" sorted though!

I think you've probably ruined one of my favourite Mozzarella songs there Liam. Pellegrini Palare, brilliant lad.

My god, writing lyrics to songs you'll never sing.

Football chants just happen, a certain time, a certain place. They certainly are NOT born on forums by amateur songsmiths looking for every minor detail of the lyrics to either be factually accurate or to rhyme perfectly or whatever it is people on here seem to want from a song. Why is this so hard for people to understand? why do people persist writing lyrics on here? "I think this works better" "it should be this, it should be that" Give it a rest now. Leave the songs to form naturally in pubs before games and at matches themselves. Simple!

The song born in Villereal is EXACTLY how a song should form and take off. That night, in that bar, it just happened! And it took off. The next night the whole end was singing it by full time.

Therefore, it is the right one. No need for a new thread, no need for tweaked lyrics, the silva song is now set in stone and will be sung by those that actually go to matches whether people on here like it or not.

And I have tried to stay away from the old, match going fans argument because I understand it's not easy to attend matches, but in this instance, it couldn't be more apt. Leave the songs to the match going fans please.

Yes, you must be correct.

Surely?

I mean the Balotelli song.....oh.

Here - put another one in your pipe and see how it smokes - this one was penned by 'chanceatthefarpost' on here - fancy a wager on seeing if it is sung by match-going fans, oh font of all knowledge? 'Cos I reckon we'll be singing this against Newcastle, regardless of what YOU do!!

Ohhh Micah Richards
He's a full back, he loves the blues,
He looks like Balotelli but he doesn't wear a hat,
He doesn't play for England 'cos Capello is a twat!
Ohhh Micah Richards......

I think this is my favourite post EVER on Bluemoon.

HAhahahahaha! Never saw that!

That perfect mixture of profound ignorance and lip-out aggression you see so much on forums.
