I agree, that pass to Dzeko was amazing, the pass and the subsequent excellent goal finished the game that - if it wasn't for their keeper, would have been a whitewash - 27 shots, 20 on target, back tp our best, albeit against a relegated team. The last 20 minutes of the match Silva looked really up for it, the first half I thought he was very quiet and his passing wasn't as good as we know it can be.
Yes, that was good part of the game, and that is way how they need to play. But Reading defence is one of the weakest.

So was Wigan's .....apparently!

I bet Martinez, the Wigan staff and the Wigan fans were shitting themselves when that defence took the field. Never put under any pressure!

nowhere near back to his best yet, but he did have a good game.

Many people seem to think that David has been supbar this year, but the statistics say otherwise: he is currently tied for number one in all major European leagues with 3.3 chances created per game (Valbuena is also at 3.3, while Ribery and Farfan are at 3.2 and Baines at 3.1).

The difference between this year and last year lies rather in team finishing and luck (or lack thereof). For that matter, we actually led the PL in shots on target per game (6.2 vs 5.6 for the scum), but finished just sixth in goals for.

The David Silva what Mancini for some reason liked to play wide, against Wigan he was hugging the touchline.

Absolutely shocking, he should be in the middle. Picking the ball up EVERY opportunity available, as soon as he picks the ball up the amount of players who close him down is unbelievable. Instantly he creates room just by receiving the ball.

This might come as a surprise, but IMO personally.. the one player Silva enjoys playing at City with most will be James Milner.

They play together so well all the time, and between them they can play one touch football. Also that brings the point above back into this, creates more room wide when Silva picks it up in the centre.

Draws players out, and that's where he's at his best with that final ball. He's been wasted far too many times out wide, in the middle every single time.

Pellegrini will get the best out of him. Silva is the perfect player for his system.

You are spot on. I know personally that DS is looking forward to city under Pellegrini although he has quite enjoyed the numerous rest days under Mancini. Hard work starts as soon as MP starts but David expects that hard work to be rewarded with positive results. Exciting times ahead blues.

What about that sublime pass to Edin at Reading? Genius

Oh and by the way what about Edin's very subtle movement off the ball to creat the space, plus top quality finish. How do the Edin doubters feel about that? Who says he (Edin) needs wingers banging in crosses all afternoon, there is much more to his game than that, Mancini just never gave him the chances and confidence.

David has been consistently better this season overall than he was last season.
