David Silva

Would definitely be false as the little fucker can't finish!

Not disagreeing at all, but i seem to remember having Dzecko, Sergio and Jovetic injured all at once 2014 season i think....could be blue tinted specs but didn't he score 3-4 on the bounce around xmas time?

Silva's goal record in that time was brilliant, which was great to see but he can be such a frustrating player when it comes to composure in front of goal. I have no idea what goes on in training but you would have thought some extra training on this would have benefited him, its not as if he lacks ability!

With Pep at the helm I'm confident he will identify areas for development in all our players. Hopefully Silva will have a big season for us!

It's less about composure, more about not wanting to take the shot on. I hope Pep tells him to be more confident in front of goal and have more shots. He's a nightmare to defend against but as a defender you know he's more likely to pass than shoot so can give him a bit more room. If he starts taking shots on, he'll be closed down more and can play others in. You see it with De Bruyne, the opposition have no idea how to defend against him because whilst they don't want to get too tight to him, they know if they back off he'll put it in the back of the net.

Also David is such an intelligent footballer when playing with natural goal scorers he wont make the runs to the scoring space but wait till a forward fills it. Bet he is shit in net too, but we don't pay him for that either ;)

Agreed, he does tend to be reluctant to get a shot away, especially when a chance falls on his right foot. But I would also say his composure in front of goal lets him down, when you compare it to his approach in other areas of the pitch where he is second to none.

The De Bruyne comparison is spot on, like you say he is a real goal threat and for that reason he has the edge on Silva for the number 10 spot, in my opinion. If Silva can add goals to his excellent all round game he'll be even more of an asset to us than he already is.

I don't mean these comments to sound like I don't rate Silva, he's one of the very best players I've seen and I love watching him play. That doesn't mean he can't get even better though!

My thoughts exactly. He's an absolute dream to watch and is just so gifted. It's often quite easy to see space and know how much time a player has when you're watching from the stands but he does it at pitch level and considering he's not the quickest, it shows young players just how crucial technique and awareness are as a professional if you want to be one of the best. A magician. If he can start score more regularly, not prolifically but more often he'll further cement his place as one of, if not the best to ever wear the City shirt. And if there's a man to get him to reach even dizzier heights it's Pep.

I've said before that if only he had a better finish on him it would elevate him into the world star he rightly deserves to be.
By that I mean in the eyes of those not closely linked with City

Seen a few joint city and united joint best 11 things lately and he didn't feature in many of them ,neither did zlatan for that matter.
Fans of other teams don't rate him as highly as we do .

An absolute disgrace. The best City player I've seen pull on the shirt.
I've always thought he's played in quite long patches since he's been at city from being the best midfielder in the world to bang average, hopefully last season can be put down to his ankle injury and been played when he shouldn't.
I like Silva but its funny he's never picked up any city player of the year awards voted for by fans or players but won loads of player of the month.
Not so sure weather he will be a starter next season or if his creative role will go to debruyne.another patchy player
