David Villa in Manchester for medical

I think I've just had a tiny orgasm. The silva-villa link up is a thing of beauty - it occasionally makes an appearance when they play together for spain (not very often, admittedly) and passing to villa obviously comes very naturally to silva.

Also, can we appreciate this for a minute - Villa trolling defenders and Silva scoring a great goal. Grainy as hell, but still.

Any evidence other than hearsay that he's in Manchester having a medical? I know how much they hate us but you'd think if he were it would be big enough news to make SSN. Lambert medical for scouse is.

If it was for City I would imagine SSN would be tipped off but this is for NYCFC.

If he does get loeaned out to us which is looking probable then SSN will be all over it.

Villa would be a good attacking option for us for 6 months, in fact I can see him being more lethal for us than he was at Atletico due to us playing a more expansive game which should suit his game better.

Or maybe City have asked the press to keep quiet about this until we have finalised the deal and confirmed where he will be playing until march next year

EXCLUSIVE: David Villa in Manchester ahead of New York City move

The Atletico forward was spotted having a medical at the Bridgewater ahead of a move to New York City FC.

Here is David Villa, taking a medical in Manchester this afternoon before becoming New York City FC's first marquee signing.

The exclusive picture, captured by one of our photographers, shows the Spanish international at the Bridgewater Hospital in Moss Side.

City declined to comment but M.E.N. Sport understands the 32-year-old is here to finalise the terms of his move to the Blues' US franchise, which kicks off in the new MLS season next March.

The swoop for Villa will send shockwaves through the game across the Atlantic and is a clear sign that NYCFC mean business.

He will join from Spanish champions Atletico Madrid after scoring 13 goals last season and will shortly jet out to the World Cup with his country, who are considered one of the favourites.

The ex-Barcelona striker is NOT expected to train with City or be eligible to play for them before the MLS season starts.
